  1. Y'all are sick, sick people. Totally destroying my preconceptions of children's toys.
  2. What is this Valentine's Day you speak of? I know not of it. (river in Egypt)
  3. Hi Kasia: You're avatar is precious. It's really cool. Sincerely, Me.
  4. Question from ig'nance: Why do you think Britney's boobs are fake? Why do you trust that conclusion over her denials?
  5. Good idea! Gotta think about the things you'd enjoy on any other day. Just treat today like it's just another great day. Some people are celebrating? Hmmm ... I wonder what that's about. Oh well, can't be troubled with that. My day is here. I'm posting on my favorite board. I'm IM'ing my friends. I'm answering my email. I'm playing my guitar. It's all good!
  6. There you go: Sydney Bitchow with the dirt!
  7. I agree. Besides, I can't feel too sorry for you, Mandy. You've got a twinkle in your eye, prospects on the horizon. Maybe that makes today a little more bitter, but once things work out with you today will be a memory quickly forgotten.
  8. The last quote is so funny.
  9. I'm not sure how that would go. I think that would just end up being another day to remind people that they're single. But my real issue isn't about being single. I don't mind being single. It's that there's this celebration for people who are not single. That sucks.
  10. Yeah, most of my friends, too, though I'm at an age where a good number of my friends have spouses. I feel like making up a name for these people ... these Valentine's-y Day peoples ... these peoples who are going to have so much fun today ... they're ... they're ... Pavoprepshligonaufin! Sometimes jibberish helps me :embarrased:
  11. Stupid V-Day. Good Morning/Afternoon, Amanda.

I'm not worked up. Seriously. I'm not using phrases in all caps. I'm not using multiple question marks to end sentences. Whether you put your opinion in capital letters is part of the picture here. That and the phraseology of your post showed that while you were just expressing an opinion, you were trying to enhance it's effect. You're kind of backing off that now, and that's cool, but when you post something like you did it (in the thread that you did) it comes off as inflammatory, slightly inappropriate, and major trolling. Above you assume that I was worked up. Now you assume that I am shocked or in horror. I don't see how our discussion is helped by these blazen generalizations founded in nothing but a need to defend one's self. You don't need to defend yourself if you don't want to, and if you elect to it's inappropriate to say things which have no factual basis and are founded on your conjecture. OK - I specifically say that you aren't and shouldn't be barred from posting. You see how I put specifically in italics? I was trying to create an effect with that - to emphasize that word. A like effect would be using all caps. Again, a respectful opinion would have been "I don't like them," or "I really don't like them." You could have even said something like "I don't understand why people like them." But you didn't. You went over the top. In addition, it's not as if your post was the first of the thread. It was clear that a lot of people were posting in here because they liked or were curious about the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs. At that point, it's a fans' thread and language like yours becomes trolling. This is just basic messageboard curtousy. If you don't like a topic, just go away. I don't go into a Guy forum saying "Guy is so ugly. I don't see why you girls think he's cute. I can't tell you how incredibly insulting his appearance would be to me." That post would be wholly inappropriate, as was yours in this thread.

That's cool and all, but it may have been better for those of us who do like them if you didn't post that in this thread. just voicing my opinion, which, correct me if I'm wrong, is the whole point of a discussion board. I would believe this sentiment if you had just said "I don't like them." When you say something excessive then put it in caps then it appears that you're going beyond the mere expression of opinion. Furthermore, this thread isn't really "What do you think of the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs?" In fact, that question is not posed in this thread. This does not bar you from expressing a negatvie opion. Nor does my objection bar you from expressing a negative opinion. But if you're going to express such an opinion, you may want to avoid all caps phrases, or inflamatory phraseology like "Words alone ..." If you hate them so much the mere appearance of the name should preclude you from contributing to the thread.
  14. This ain't gonna be no amateur, Paris Hilton, practically rated G piece of shit. There'll be shit on out tape that will confuse and confound.
  15. Let me translation Ginge'r's smiley: "Only 4,000? How 2002 is that?"
  16. Right! Bring your camera. Take notes, if you want!
  17. What do you mean? That you're not satisfied? That people can bring a camera?  babe ... we're going at it for 5 hours each night ... ... if that doesn't satisfy me then I'M the one with the problems.
  18. You think it's hot now? Come by our placs any time between 11pm and 4am. Bring your camera if you want.
  19. No ... I couldn't be disappinted.
  20. Actually, if we were in a normal world, you wouldn't be unsatisified.
  21. Oh, no. That's fine! I was just curious. What did you think, Ren?
  22. Yeah *sniff* Maybe this Chandler/Monica, Richard/Noni thing isn't working out as well as I thought it was.
  23. Clearly Chandler is not keeping his woman satisified.
  24. Mandy ... has Ren seen the first sample?
