But really, if you like Pearl Jam it's worth listening to Mother Love Bone as well as Temple of the Dog. In addition, both Matt Cameron and Stone Gossard have really good side projects. Wellwater Conspiracy's last album was well received critically ... and I liked it.

The thing about New Orleans more than any city: If you're not down with alcohol, you're not going to really like that city much. Maybe you will, but I doubt it. I mean, there's only so much to do at night there.

i don't like van halen, but eddie van halen seems to be really respected by other guitarists as a really great lead. i always tended to believe their accounts, and when i listen to van halens big songs i do hear some classic riffs.

Afraid not. Pearl Jam's had one guy in drug rehab, but he's been cool for a while ... and that's about as hairy as it's gotten for them. They're relatively boring, I guess.

No yawning about it, man. New Orleans is one of the five or six great cities in the US ... New Orleans, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Washington DC, Las Vegas ... not sure I'd put any others in this category, though I've never been to Boston or Miami (places I've heard are also great places to visit).

Hey ... it's fun. It's not high art, but it has it's place.

Washington Square ... ... when i vacationed there last year I would site there for six hours in the middle of the day ... laptop, coffee, answering email. It was so cool. Emails answered, some work done, I'd start going through the city. And then there were always cool street performers down there.
