  11. If you want to talk about the impact people have had in the world I would say I've had one but not as yet a very substantial one. I think I've given a few people insight and maybe possibly changed the way they think but I haven't, eg, written anything I would consider to be of real value, or played particularly moving music, or drawn anything particularly good, or whatever. I don't think any artistic creation I've made is of any real value. Well. I'm not really sure. I don't think I'm one to judge my own work because I do realize I am pretty quick to judge it too harshly. I'm good at writing. But not, you know, earth-shattering or anything like that; only a few of my friends/my teacher have read, eg, assignments written for English class, and they all say it's good. But I haven't published anything or done anything to preserve its existence so I wouldn't really say I've created anything of value, just on those grounds alone. On the other hand I of course have my dreams for the future and will probably change the world at least a little bit based on what I'm gon' do when I grow up (science). I hope to do something that really does change the world, at least a little bit. And of course, hopefully for the better. But everybody wants to do that when they're young. We'll have to see if I can really cut it or not. Yeah that's what we've been talking about, the blend of your personality traits/experiences make you unique, not the personality traits/experiences themselves. Or at least that's my position.
  12. Yeah, but Albert Einstein just saw the world a certain way -- common enough for people to see the world differently from normal -- and had the discipline to think about the same issues for years -- and discipline like that isn't strictly uncommon either. So I maintain that his "uniqueness" was just a very potent blend of slightly less common common attributes. He was just a man, after all. Just far more insightful than most people are. The same goes for probably every genius ever, I think. Just my two cents though.
  13. Nah, I think it's for almost everybody a blend of commonality just some of the commonalities are slightly more common and perhaps the way the commonalities are blended is unique.
  14. Know how I know you're gay? :smartass:
  15. They were almost done recording it. Possibly actually done.
  16. Well if "being unique" is your only way of judging uniqueness then I suppose if everybody was unique nobody would be unique. But really that's so obviously not the case that saying that is pathetic; it's just not unique to be unique in and of itself.
  17. None. I'm not embarrassed about what I like, whatever I like. I mean I suppose I can't help being from time to time but I really gave up caring about music. It's silly to be ashamed of liking music you do.
  18.
  19. Well, not one particular aspect, no, because every aspect of me can be found in copious quantities elsewhere in humanity, somewhere; it's more of the combinations and recombinations of each trait that make us "unique." It's so complicated that most people consider it to be totally intangible, un-understandable, etc. I'm legitimately curious as to why we feel the need to make ourselves feel so unique though, because whether I'm "unique" or not doesn't really affect me. You know?
  20. Because I saw this one and thought for a bit and couldn't think of anything good and then I just thought, "why do people care so much?"
  21. I don't think it fucking matters in all honesty. I just do what makes me happy. You dirty little individualists.
  22. I don't fucking know. Why should I care?
  23. Yeah I never skipped breakfast last year but that was more cuz I absolutely needed it cuz I swam. I really don't feel hungry and sometimes feel sick when I eat shortly after waking up, but I shouldn't skip breakfast because I get unbelievably hungry about an hour after waking up. I think running will help work up an appetite too and is overall probably just the best way to start a day. So yes. Right now I run in the evenings when it cools off a bit, usually around 6 or so. Although some days I like mow the lawn instead of running, or something.
  24. I was thinking of doing that this school year as well, I like need discipline and running in the morning for like 15 minutes or whatever is a good way to have it I think, plus running + cold shower + big or at least medium-sized breakfast is an awesome way to start the day. Idk what I'll do when it's freezing cold, though.
