Fleet Foxes
If there already was a thread for them, I didn't see it in the directory or on a search... so if not, THERE IS NOW! AND ABOUT TIME! Holy Crap. I love their new self titled album. I guess it came out in June. Slipped past my radar. Just started listening to in the last couple days. Awesome. Kind of reminds me of Band of Horses/The Shins... and I know a lot of people say it reminds them of the Beach Boys (maybe a little). But a great sound. I highly recommend.

Post pieces of music in films you like
The Fountain Soundtrack - "Death is the Road to Awe" Clint Mansell's soundtrack to the Fountain is my favorite in years... The track "Death is the Road to Awe" builds to such a spectacular ending. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihF_aXi-Huk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihF_aXi-Huk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> or this if the embedded one doesn't work... Permanent Ability... check them out
One of my best friends, Brian, moved out to LA to pursue his dream a couple years ago. He now has financed recording an EP, basically by himself. He's now trying to get his music heard. He played Whisky A Go Go the other day in LA, and the Cat Club tonight. (I'm not from LA, but think those are a pretty big deal to play at). I'm really impressed with what he's done... and think if anybody in the biz ever gives him and the band a shot and maybe a record deal, they could be BIG. He's finally got his EP on ITunes... Check them out if you don't mind. He has always loved Red Hot Chili Peppers, and funk rock... so those influences are there in his music, but on one of the songs, he shows a soft side too. They are called Permanent Ability... They are on itunes...so listen to the previews there or on their band site... http://www.myspace.com/permanentability If I get at least one or two more people to listen... I think I've done a good thing for my bud. Sorry for pimping my buddies band out here, but I'm just trying to catch him a break. Let me know what you think...
