I too use MS Paint. It's the most basic software for such work out there, but it gets the job done for at least this sort of application. :-) and nope, for me it never increases the file size. also, in one of the pull-down menus up on top, there is a way of knowing how big (pixel-wise) your file is....click the "attributes..." button under "Image" drop-down menu.
