  1. yeah...I know you're weird about your tea! :P
  2. yeah my primary source is web sites. And I NEVER EVER go to CNN web site anymore...it's been years since I went on CNN or other web sites. I just use direct wire services like AP, AFP, et al. it's cool that Philly's got independent stations and promoters. me being in texas...we don't get that luxury. The Alternative Rock radio station is owned by ClearChannel. So are stations that play Mix and Top 40. They also own the 24-hour news radio station on the AM dial. , as well as a few other popular talk-radio stations on AM.
  3. good luck, Sweet One. and have a great time over the holiday season!
  4. chai = (black) tea, made with milk and certain spices (ginger, for one) and sugar
  5. ohh and you'd flip out on me if i said things u don't know about me :embarrased:
  6. dania makes good tea, seems like! or 'chai', rather!
  7. Whoa!! I'm glad to see someone in here paying attention to this issue!! That's so cool! Hey looks like you could benefit by watching news on PBS..."The News Hour with Jim Lehrer"...it's actual news, not celeb trash! and Bill Moyers and others have done several shows on the media ownership issue already. I too think it's bad that ClearChannel Communications owns 1600 radio stations. I've already noticed how the DJs and other radio folks aren't local anymore....they sit in some other city and one DJ's voice and program gets heard in 50 cities.... and it's up to ClearChannel if they want to promote some artist or not. And the artist better be willing to do extra shows or charge more bucks for their show... 'cuz ClearChannel also has its finger in artist-management companies...so if Coldplay for example don't want to play ball with ClearChannel, ClearChannel can pull the plug on Coldplay's music at all its radio stations....and since that's what drives the CD sales and popularity....Coldplay can end up being just another band.... it's too much power in too few hands

  9. yeah...i wish and hope that this thread doesn't turn into something too popular! it'd freak me out to see people in here going gaga over this thing! lmao
  10. oh you don't like changes? i don't like changes either, for the most part. *shrug*
  11. funny thing is: i didn't even watch a single episode of that reality show, The Bachelor...or The Bachelorette. And I am not even into the celeb gossip thingy. And still I know a little about it....shows you that you can't even get away from it!! It's EVERYWHERE! but nobody ever talks about AIDS in Africa or any such news
  12. the Idiocy that's 'reality TV', has spawned these new-fangled 'celebs'. either Trista is the 'The Bachelorette' or the Ryan dude is the centerpiece of the show 'The Bachelor', and apparently one chose the other on the show by giving a fecking red rose (the ceremony is SOOOO unreal!) and now they're getting married. The American tv network that carries the show (ABC) is gonna give the couple a wedding tagged at $1 million and another $1 million to the couple in cash. So basically, all the papparazzi and low life and media are talking about this thing. It's news served to the lowest common denominator. It's also the reason by Ozzy Osborned breaking bones while monkeying around makes the nightly news. It's the reason why 500 photographers and cameramen spent hours trying to get something from the recent Michael Jackson sorry-ass drama. And it's the reason why in America, most people still think that Saddam *did* have "nukular" weapons! and that Saddam had connections with the 9/11 terrorists. The media lulls you into following such stupid stories that you don't even think of actual news going on in the world....

  18. btw: this thread should be re-named to something like: what are you up to right now? 'cuz that's pretty much the question that everyone's answering, rather than telling people something about themselves that others don't know :idea2:
