This first post is so funny! Coldplay and U2 couldn't be anymore different, and Chris Martin and Bono really couldn't be any further from each other. Coldplay don't try to copy anyone, they are now the band everyone else will be trying to replicate, the biggest band on the planet and no one beats them, not even U2. If both bands were to release albums in 2014 I could confidently say, Coldplay's album would sell more, Coldplay's singles would sell more, and Coldplay would have a bigger tour. Obviously that means nothing, Justin Bieber and 1D sell a lot. But then I would also definitely prefer Coldplay's music and gigs. This is coming from a big fan of both bands.

Not gonna enter the argument about whether Coldplay are this or that. I love them, they are brilliant for me, the end. The only point I'll make is that the people criticisng Coldplay are the people with thousands upon thousands of posts on a website called "coldplaying". They spend their lives posting on an off-topic forum. Lol. :laugh3:

They're not going to do longer shows. It's too tiring to play that long every night on a huge non-stop tour. And they'd have to start earlier and it would cost them more.

I'm in that crowd behind that picture going wild celebrating. This award would have meant so, so much more to Crewe Alexandra FC and the fans compared to Coldplay and their fans. And this is coming from an obsessed Coldplay fan! Shouldn't be any music in the competition, especially something as naff as a brief cameo at a naff concert. Coldplay at Wembley wasn't even the best moment of Coldplay's day! They played their own gig later in Manchester! Sorry to sound rude and offensive but I think this is a joke.

Sounds nothing like it, and even if it did? So what? A short melody which would be purely coincidental and it happens all the time.

This really pisses me off. A short cameo amongst other artists at a naff concert is the best Wembley moment of 2012? Not a fucking chance. Wembley is the home of football and it should have been awarded to a football team. My football team, Crewe Alexandra were also in the competition and we had the biggest and proudest moment in our history, grown men crying tears of joy. It should have been a football team, this is bullshit. We're a very small football club, unfair competition, never had a chance.

They seem relatively far into the album, where have they found the time to decide what they want to do and to write it? I think you'd be better of writing a new album when you're not currently in the middle of touring another personally

But the album probably won't be released for another 3 years and they won't play shows inbetween, so yes it is a 3 year break from Coldplay, it's the way every band works..

What's so hard to believe about them taking a 3 year hiatus? sounds about right to me
