And didn't the band invest in an entire second set of instruments/tour stuff back in 06 in an effort to cut down carbon emissions when flying around their gear? Found this piece of information on mortigi tempo.

I don't think that they will cancel the European shows, image what a loss of money that would be for them. Luckily, they could reschedule them for August and September. :)
