  1. yep, that really really does it in the live version
  2. As said by many, MM is one of the best songs they have created, so energetic and with such an unique sound. The vocal distortion fits in it completely. I don't know if they have been looking for an edge, but this song definitely has one. I am still in doubt though if it even isn't Jonny singing (too)..
  3. No problem for me, I'm a kind of a MUSE fan too:laugh3:
  4. Doesn't really give me the feeling it gives me in the live version, but that's almost always the case with most songs. On the other hand it is once again a superb piece of music and I give them credit for experimenting with their voices and mixing of the sound. I keep looking at it as the artistical freedom they use to explore the borders of their musical abilities and their efforts to keep the music they make interesting (to themselves and the fans). So as far as i am concerned, thumbs up for Coldplay, you did it once again!
  5. So why didn't you ??? Naah, that's it with Coldplay, they are capable of pure simplicity. Seemingly effortless making great songs with minimal chords, bridges or whatever. For example, take some of those fantastic legendary Beatles songs, afterwards not that complex at all.. They make songs that will stand time and in 50 years, when you hear this song, you will instantly say, Hey , this is Coldplay and probably even remember the lyrics too.. So, ETIAW didn't started any downfall, it merely introduces another phase of evolution in the musical development of Chris and Co. And yes, sorry for it, but i like ETiAW to the bones, it gives me a superb feeling of joy listening to it as can be said for the other new songs.
  6. You're absolutely entitled to your opinion.. But when I check out the poll at least 66pct of all the ratings are 7 and up so i think the majority do not share your opinion and think it's shit... Maybe you are hard to get, but it definitely will grow on you, happened to me too after initially having some second thoughts on it.

SO I was right, they put it on a B-side...:(

listened to it all day, this song is simply amazing. Again, some adjusting might be needed but then, o whoaaa, it's such a perfectly composed piece of art. The way it builds op. They manage to create such a special atmosphere in tone and tempo. IMHO this one is good for solid gold though I am afraid this wil become one of those underrated songs of Coldplay (like I ran away)

  10. Finally I rated, gave it a nine. After adjusting a little to the rythm and the uptempo and having experienced the song live@pinkpop2011 I'm all into it. The guys from Coldplay really love it themselves also, as seen on their faces and body language as they perform. ETIAW is a great piece of music and really realy good for live performances.
  11. Cathedrals in my heart Do we need say more? this is a pure expression of passion and love. Just try to picture it
  12. So many people, so many opinions. When I read that volkskrant review, that's nothing more than not accepting that Coldplay is one of the best bands of the moment and willingly not giving in to the feeling that in a way you like them too.. The majority of the reviewers are by far positive, so for that volkskrant rievewer it is "him against the world...". I was there and it was magical once again!
  13. Sometimes you see a red balloon waving, in the audience, that will be me :) That balloon somehow ended up im my hands and after that I couldn't help waving it. I just read an opinion (sorry, it's dutch) on the performance http://3voor12.vpro.nl/artikelen/artikel/44815467 that rates the performance with an 8 (out of 10). Fairly good score and I agree with it..
  14. So, now you are all able to see all the vids from Coldplay@pinkpop2011, the crowd wasn't that bad eh? Just referring to the previous remarks that the crowd lacked enthousiasm and energy. I really think the vids show for themselves.:) Take A look at the hq recording from the Scientist and see Chris' face and hear the crowd singalong, seems to me that he (and the crowd) is enjoying to the fullest...
  15. What is that with the bad crowd?? At least from my point of view, and I was way up front this was a superb atmosphere an the guys from Coldplay looked very happy. Just remember that this is a festival, and not everybody has the same taste of music. The perfomance was once again superb, even though Chris admitted some little, as he called it, "fuckups"... And I have to state once again, ETiAW is one hell of a live concert song!
  16. Hello you all, I finally decided to subscribe to coldplaying.com. Tried to fight It, but I couldn't. First tried for a long time not to listen to a Coldplay song at least once a day, obviously failed, now couldn't resist anymore and subscribed to be able to talk about my favourite band. Am I in TROUBLE now? Do I need to FIX this, do i have to RUN AWAY or do I have to TALK about it? Is there maybe a SCIENTIST in the room that can give me an advice on this, or am i LOST forever? Everytime i hear a Coldplay song I get A RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD and THE HARDEST PART of it all is that I don't know whether Help is Round The Corner or My Feet won't touch the ground. WHAT IF there was no Coldplay, would i still feel SPARKS or would EVERY TEARDROP of mine be A WATERFALL? Think i introduced myself clear enough, hope to enjoy Coldplaying.com for a long long time..

UWtB or not, I like all the new songs but MM really does it. Man o Man, The way Jonny plays the guitar. Maybe it isn't that supertechnical or whatever, the licks Jonny comes up with, they get to you and stay with you forever and they always add that special kind of Coldplayish sound I like so much.
  18. When there won't be another way to get up front I will... We (me and my son) are in an utter state of euphoria, after 2009 we will see them live again and this time all up front, that's for sure. So to you all enjoy tomorrow, we will!
  19. have been making plans all day how to get in the front row and stay there. I'll be that guy who has chained himself to the fence up front, so you know..:sneaky: (and lost the key)

MM is so full of energy and my favourite new song by far. I am always astonished about the fact that they manage to create such super sounds with such a limited number of vocals and instruments. Whoaa, that is pure talent! Take Chris' voice and his superb acoustic guitar sound, Jonny superlicking on his guitar,Guy taking (obviously effortless) care for great baseline and Will orchestrating the rhythm and some vocaling and you have the recipie for superb music. I really, really, really like MM!! (as of all other Coldplay songs, including ETIAW that needed some adjusting for me but is brilliant in it's way and superb for live performances).
  21. Damn, I am on a holiday this weekend, no internet... Think I cancel it, don't wanna miss out on the release I have been waiting for so long.. I think they look very good, stylish and ready to rock! Also like the artwork:)
