Interesting topic. Most of the people I know who like Coldplay are black, and I live in a pretty white area.:)

Our scene in DC is rap and really generic hard rock. You can also find jazz but I've never really looked for it. We have this radio show called local licks though, so it's a great way for emerging bands to make waves. I've heard there's a Garage rock movement, which would be great but I've never seen it so I don't know how true that is.....

I think just because your not into them right now doesn't mean you don't like them any more. For example my favorite band is, and always has been The Beatles. I hadn't listened to them for a very long time and was starting to think like you. But after that break I came back to them and everything was fresh and I remembered why I love them so much. I'm not nearly as obsessed with them as I used to be (I've found many new groups since then) but they are still special to me (and I count them as my favorite group). Mabey it'll be the same for you :shrug: :)
