  1. Greetings people of the planet you call Earth!
  2. So, after reading this I read a bit about Surfing Bird. I had know idea about the anti X Factor campaign and trying to get the Christmas #1. I know we sort of had one on here to get Paradise to number one, but I didn't know it was a common sort of thing.
  3. There were also all the Viva songs that leaked. I hope they release b sides, an EP, or stand alone singles before the next LP or we could be waiting quite along time....
  4. A lot of singles in just one year. Hopefully they release an EP or some stand alone singles later or we may have to wait like 3 years for new Coldplay stuff....
  5. ^I love that movie! I also recommend "The Road To El Dorado" to anyone who hasn't already seen it. Came out about the same time. Similar Aztec theme. Both are really fun movies:)
  6. I wanna see dis movie [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ4dAY3DW4c&feature=youtube_gdata_player]SKYFALL - Official Teaser Trailer - YouTube[/ame]
  7. The trailers out!!! Looks like a good one!:D [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ4dAY3DW4c&feature=youtube_gdata_player]SKYFALL - Official Teaser Trailer - YouTube[/ame]
  8. ^I completely agree with everything you both just said. Lyrics don't need to mean anything, they need to feel right and mold well with the song. The lyrics themselves are sort of like another instrument and add another layer to the song. It doesn't matter of they mean anything - people can interpret them different ways - It's about the overall picture they create, and that picture can vary from person to person. Sometimes when lyrics are too complicated they lose that feel, and while they may still tell a story rather well, to me at least they'll never be as good as the more raw lyrics of artists like Alex Turner.
  9. Just found out how to see sigs (never really cared to in The past), but now I'm to overwhelmed so they're going to go away. Wave goodbye sigs! Goodbye!:D Edit: Woah. I have a signature?
  10. ...wait. Miniature cows? Chickens? Does Guy own a farm?
  11. :awesome: About time! I've been needing a U2 fix for a while!
  12. *Due to lack of converable subject matter, Coldplaying user "Cheese Nip 2", better known as "Cheese Nip" by those closest to him, retreats into his own mind: A fantasy world where dreams come true, happiness is abounding and candy roams free on the wide open range. While poaching used to be a problem, recent advancements in drone fighters have led to a decrease in dead peppermint people and a sharp increase in dead poachers, whose carcasses now drape over the vast savannah as if a blanket of fresh fallen, bloody snow. It is during this visit to the inner sanctums of his mind that Cheese Nip goes to visit the cerebral councils: Elders that have lived in his mind since the dawn of time. Much to Cheese Nip's surprise an horror, the elders have gone frail and are kneeled on the floor, their black cloaks draping over their malnourished bodies. He runs over to the chieftain, who falls into Cheese Nip's arms. "What's the matter!", Cheese Nip cries. "What has happened to my friends!?!". "These are dark times...", the elder informs him. "You must...". The old man hesitates and swallows what are left of his teeth. "You must defeat the Butterscotch Queen!". "But I can't!", screams Cheese Nip. "For I am in love with her daughter!". The old man looks up at him, shocked at what he has just heard. A look of horror, than sadness, crosses his face, and he falls dead in Cheese Nip's arms. "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" "Whatever shall I do", Cheese Nip thinks to himself. Surely I can not break the heart of my fair maiden, even though her mother, in whose stomach she incubated for a period of 3 years, was in fact destroying the world his thoughts had created years ago.....All around him he saw peppermint people starving, Dying, forever scarred by the Butterscotch Queens evil deeds. Surely her daughter would understand.... But nay, in a momentary lapse of commen sense Cheese Nip falls pray to her beauty and is seduced into handing over the remnant shares of his mind to her now blood covered fingers. The knife now protrudes from his side and he lies laughing on the floor. He loves the way it burns: the pain, the hatred, all that he has never known. She plans to kill her mother and take over the realm of Cheese Nip's mind for all of eternity, and he does nothing to prevent it. He is quite content in her strangle hold, and will rule deviously beside her, tearing the world apart bit by bit till there is nothing left but a quilt of peppermint carcasses...
  13. Oh yeah! Mark Foster would be great!
  14. Yo (do people still say that :P)
  15. Oh yeah that episode was awesome! I remember Phil wanted a knight shaped guitar or something.:laugh3:
  16. I loe this song and I'm so glad they brought it back. I love the acoustic version too! :) Is Guy still using the mandolin like he used to?
  17. Coldplay and Noel Gallagher for me. Still, I think I like collabs off of albums, I don't know why. Also, now that I've been listening to her a bit more maybe something with Bat For Lashes would be nice. But yeah, definitely Noel for me:) PS: And if you remember R42's Brit Awards blog - there's a chance!
  18. ^Hilarious! Was that in an episode? I've never seen it before, but than again I haven't seen the show in a while.
  19. You are 100% right about this. I just wrote an essay on it actually. Sure the U.S may have given birth to the roots of rock (bluegrass, blues, country, etc), but it hasn't regained the crown since the 50s. It's really interesting actually. I think the reason for so few American rock bands is the way our culture is over here. It's not as "sexy" as pop or as "gangsta" as rap. Not that there's anything wrong with those genres nessisarilly, it's just that I find radios, tv, and people overlook rock, perhaps cause they can't market it as easily.
  20. Wait you're 14 and you know logarithms?! I'm 18 and they were on my final today. And I had no clue what I was doing. Not a good sign.....:P
  21. Dang. I accidentally just thanked you.... YOU ARE UNDESERVING OF MY THANKS!!!!
  22. Is this MX's first win? I don't think it was eligible at a lot of the other awards right?
  23. Oh yeah I remember her from when I used to just read the posts! She posted a lot, I wonder what happened to her. Or maybe she just changed her avi. That always confuses me so.....
  24. So, I didn't see a thread for this but unfortunately BeeGees co-founder Robin Gibb passed away today at the age of 62 after a long battle with cancer. http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/20/showbiz/robin-gibb-dies/index.html It's a shame, I really love his music. I was really happy when he came out of his coma, but I guess it was just his time. I don't really know what to say other than we'll always have his music. R.I.P man. He sings lead on the first a co-wrote the latter
