  1. I would say go for some Beatles of course but also take a look at The Who. Both of those bands started poppy and moved to more psychedelic sounds (Sgt Pepper, Tommy). Pink Floyd and The Doors are great but a little intense if you're just starting out. Maybe try out "Touch Me" or "Hello I Love You" before delving deeper into their catalogues. How I discovered music was through The Beatles. Yeah, it's cliche, but so many bands are influenced by them you can use them as a great jumping off point. Cream is great psychedelic blues if you like that, but judging by your preferences I would say start with Sgt. Pepper. It's a great album (just lay down and listen to it all the way through. You won't be dissapointed).:)
  2. This actually sounds logical to me. I love the new A Warning Sign!
  3. I'm quite worried about tomorrow's biology test
  4. The vocals are really nice and the recording quality and instrumentation is top notch! I really like it!:D
  5. Sure....Let's go with that.
  6. Not to you but to many it is, and I just want people to respect others' choices in music. "Fanatsic" varies from person to person. whatever...
  7. Everyone's untitled to their opinions. Get over yourselves you pretencious hipsters.....
  8. Yeah, I've played it before. I mean, by no means is it like some $700 Fender in terms of sound but I found nothing wrong with it at all. It's got a nice hollow sound and the strings don't "buzz" as bad as some other guitars I've heard. I mean, there's probally some buzzing, but it doesn't sound bad by any means (at least in my experiance with it.) It does look like the paint on the fretboard comes off in places where you're nails hit often, but if you're gonna paint it that may not really matter. Again, I personally don't own it but I know someone who does, so I'm writing from my limited experiance with it. I've been checking it out lately cause, like I said, I'm interested in getting a good cheap guitar that I can paint and I'm probally gonna go with this one. I personally don't think you're gonna find a better guitar for that price :)
  9. Why does Windows Media Player classify Franz Ferdinand as World Music. :|
  10. ^ I'm thinking about getting a new one too. I like to play on the streets with my friend and don't want to mess up my nice guitar. Plus, I could paint a cheap one and not feel guilty. I was actually thinking about getting the exact same one :P I've played it before and I think it sounds great considering the price. For $50 you can't go wrong. The problem for me is I don't know if I have the room...
  11. ^There are a lot of special vinyl releases. My particular store also restocked and got a lot of new artists.
  12. So did anyone who had strictly discs email them get any info from them? I didn't. Just curious....
  13. My store didn't buy any, which make sense since I'm not in a very rockin' area, but I did manage to get the new Foster The People 7" and some Franz Ferdinand stuff I've been looking for, so it was worth the trip. Congrats to all who managed to get one! Cherish that baby (unlike those selfish snots who are selling them on ebay) :P
  14. I managed to get my hands on Broken Jaw/Ruby by Foster The People! That was a great find! Unfortunatley my record store didn't buy Coldplay, The Flaming Lips, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 12" (I think it was U.K only anayways), or R U Mine.... Still, I'm glad I got to cross Foster The People off my list!:D
  15. I got the Broken Jaw/Ruby 7"! A great find, I was lucky I got it! :D
  16. :thumbsup:Alright, enjoy!
  17. I like them all a lot! That Hurts Like Heaven one, however, is a masterpeice!
  18. The name alone.... Brilliant!
  19. Hurdy Gurdies are awesome! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXXQknYWkB4&feature=youtube_gdata_player]Page & Plant - Hurdy Gurdy Solo - Live '95 Albuquerque - YouTube[/ame]
  20. I've been waiting for songs of ascent since the Viva La Vida days. Are they even calling it that anymore? What about all the stuff they were playing on that beach recording? Very anxious to hear what they put out next. I loved NLotH.
  21. Up With The Birds/ UFO obviously Flaming Lips with Heady Fwends R U Mine 7" The Civil Wars Billie Jean 7" Foster The People Broken Jaw/ Ruby 7" Also some other ones if I can pick them up. Jack White's sounds awesome but it's not available where I live. I may get the Arcade Fire one but that'll probally sell out. The Fun. one sounds pretty cool too. It's shaped like a gear..... Hopefully I can get my hands on at least a few of these!
  22. I have Blur love. I wanna by the new Blur21 set but it's too expensive for my price range. Still, it's awesome (3 1/2 hours of unreleased material!). I'll have to fill a box with blank CDs and write Blur on it and pretend it's Blur21.
  23. ^ I like that shirt a lot
