I realize I am a little late into this thread but THANK GOD there are some more coldplay/ben lovers here! Everytime someone does a 'name that lyric' thread I always put tons of Ben lyrics and NOBODY knew them ever, i was so dissapointed.

Here's my interpretation... its sung from 1st person at times and 3rd at others.. and its about some sort of relationship where one person betrays the other or does something to make them "lose their trust"... for example a frienship where one friend is keen on somebody and the other friend knows this and starts seeing that person behind the friends back... so its sung 1st person when he says "in a bullet proof vest..." and he is talking about how he is basically trying to protect himself from being hurt again, and he knows he will eventually come around but for the time being he puts up a wall... and when he says " so you lost your trust..." its in 3rd person and its maybe even someone else talking to the person and kind of saying, get over it, or it'll be ok type of deal... haha pretty elaborate interpretation... hmm the "hypathetical example" sounds a lot like a personal experience yea?

Yes! I love the goo goo dolls! They were my first real concert. After I started getting into Radiohead, I thought the goo goo dolls were, at times, repeditive and standard... but not everybody can be as insane as Radiohead and I still love the dolls as much as ever... and Coldplay is my favorite over Radiohead...

Radiohead... FOREVER if you went to the summer tour you will know what I'm talking about... the Radiohead VS Coldplay mix of high & dry and the scientist is AMAZING my 2 most favorite bands in the same song... wet dream
