Re-interpreting the album under the light shed by the comics
I do agree that it's too soon to make any deep interpretations regarding the whole album, but (assuming everything is in chronological order) we could at least start with the first songs in MX. Also, another thing that's been bugging me is that there are all in all six issues. I don't know about you, but it seems to me that six issues are enough to tell a larger and more intrincate story than eleven songs (and three instrumentals) can provide. This adds up to the fact that the third or fourth issue (can't remember) is called "Up With The Birds". Does that mean that the story the album tells goes as far as that in the comics? My hypothesis is that they are still going to realease many B-sides (or an EP, who knows) which will carry on the task of telling the story. MTM is an example. It's very possible that its lyrics are somehow correlated with the comics, as pointed out by nathondetroit. Since it was released before the album, maybe it's something that happens prior to the comics. Maybe it's about how Major Minus' race got to Silencia in the first place. Maybe there will be some kind of clue in HLH's video. Maybe the B-sides will be realeased in a very specific and important order... Sorry guys, it's just that I love speculating things. It kind of revives the feeling I had when we were trying to find out things about the album with the few hints we had.

Re-interpreting the album under the light shed by the comics
Okay guys, it's time. Now that we know a little bit of the comics' story, I think we should try to analyze the album's lyrics once again looking for connections, much like we did once MX was out (although at that time we had no clue of what was coming whatsoever). I must admit that I have not yet read the first comic because I'm just waiting for our dear fellow coldplayers to scan all of it, since it's gonna take some time for me to lay my hand on an actual copy of the comic. So, It'd be nice if we had the help here of those who have already read the first issue. For example, after watching the videos from Comic Con, the information there gives a whole new meaning for CB's lyrics "Be a cartoon heart", "light a spark" and "We'll be glowing in the dark" The spark thing is obviusly about the art made by sparkers, which glow in the dark and move. I wonder if CB's lyrics are about Mylo, because "I saw the lights go down at the end of the scene/I saw the lights go down and standing in front of me" surely does sound like the part where he sees Fly making a spark. I don't know if he actually stole a car to go there, though. The part where it says "Took a car downtown and took what they offered me/To set me free" makes me wonder if this drug the person takes is actually colour and sound. It could also be the Hypnofeed, but it doesn't look like so because I don't think the lost boys have a Hypnofeed. Or do they? At this point It would be very nice if someone who read the first issue gave an opinion... Well, that's what I have for now. Let's go and analyze everything. I only interpreted CB's lyrics because it's what popped into my mind and it's a nice starting point, but you can give your interpretation about any song. Go, go, go!

Coldplay MX comic panel at Comic-Con (13 July 2012)
Damn I'm really excited for these comics and the HLH video. It's kind of funny how people were complaining about how MX lyrics were shallow and the album had actually no concept and now it looks like everything will fall into place. Also, after watching these videos, the story actually seems very interesting. I wish they made a whole movie in that style. Anyways, I'm very impressed that the band actually managed to keep these comics' existence a secret all this time.

Your Live DVD Setlist
Oh noes, it's this thread AGAIN! Yep, complain all you want, but you have to face the fact that we love creating awesome tracklists. So, the point in this thread is not to speculate what the Live 2012 setlist will be, but rather to show what you'd like it to be. It doesn't have to be realistic, so let your imagination run wild! Mine: 1 – Mylo Xyloto 2 – Hurts Like Heaven 3 – Violet Hill 4 – Paradise 5 – The Scientist 6 – In My Place 7 – See You Soon 8 – Shiver 9 – U.F.O. 10 – Speed Of Sound C-Stage 11 – Us Against The World 12 – Don’t Panic 13 – A Rush Of Blood To The Head Main Stage 14 – Viva La Vida 15 – Charlie Brown 16 – Don’t Let it Break Your Heart 17 – Talk 18 – Moving To Mars 19 – Life Is For Living Encore 20 – Politik 21 – Fix You 22 – Yellow 23 – Amsterdam 2nd Encore 24 – Clocks 25 – Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall 26 – Up With The Birds

LP6
Now that they've (kind of) announced LP6's existence, the topic has gotten old. This is now a LP7 speculation thread.

Fantastico! Next Coldplay album will be released by Christmas, hopes Chris Martin - FULL VIDEO IN FI
It's kind of fun to unearth these old-as-hell threads and remember what was going on, what we thought would happen and then compare it to what actually happened. Hahah, and we were calling it LP5 back then! Good ol' times... little did we know that the album would be given such an eccentric name, which would be untimely revealed to us by a prophet named Spark

What We Know Will Be On LP5
Yup, we were absolutely clueless by then...

UFO/UWTB Resemblence
At 00:30, you can hear two guitar chords and a faint choir which sound exactly like the instrumental background from the second part of UWTB. The thing is that it's just there for something like one and a half second. Do this: play from 00:29 to 00:31. Then, play UWTB from "And I won't show or feel any pain", and pay close attention to the one and a half second which comes right after the end of this verse.

Will new songs debut live?
While I am right now bravely resisting the urge to say "CAR KIDZZZ CAR KIDS OMG THEY'RE GONNA PLAY KAR KIDZZZ!!!111!11!!!!!!", I have to say that I do believe they might play one or two new songs. From what we've seen in the artwork, they have lots of unreleased songs which they might put together in an EP (wishful thinking, anyone?) or just release as B-sides. But yes, they are gonna play some new stuff. Also, Car Kids :D

I think this is a good time for them to realease a live DVD
Well, maybe it was a good time to release a DVD during the Viva tour, but perhaps they didn't do it because there weren't enough new songs. Naturally, this same reasoning could be applied to the MX tour, it just depends on how many albums they think are enough to justify recording and releasing a new Live DVD. Also, although the festival concerts have been televised last year, as I said, that wasn't the "proper" MX tour, they were just festivals. I don't know if they are intending to make a different setlist or play new versions of old songs or whatever, but the shows this year will at least be longer than those from 2011, which means more songs on the setlist (probably more MX songs and some old songs revisited). That said, I believe the concerts will be different enough to justify a new release.

I think this is a good time for them to realease a live DVD
Think about it: they are soon going to start the "proper" MX tour, which means there will be longer concerts than those from the festivals last year. Their shows, by the way, have never been as uplifting as now (imho). Also, their last (and only) live DVD was recorded many years ago and three albums were realeased since then, which means they have plenty of new songs to add to the tracklisting. Of course I'm partly saying that because I'd love Coldplay to release a new live DVD, but don't you think the tides are rather favourable to do so now?

The Coldplay Theme Park Thread
Well... I think "A Rush of Blood To The Head", "Don't Panic" and "Speed of Sound" are really good names for rollercoasters. They would be awesome!

Kelly Clarkson Covers "Fix You"
I like the way she sings it, but what's with people not getting the band's name right? It's Coldplay, not ColdPlay, for god's sake! Geez!

cold- I need a picture that looks like this
Well, I took that awesome image and changed the colours a little bit. I know it's not the same as the original but hey, at least you won't have to cope with your friends calling it gay. There are some options: Hope you like it! :D- I need a picture that looks like this
That's an AWESOME picture. Is there someone here with Photoshop skills who could remove that watermark? I'll try to find this picture without it, though.- Rank the album closers!
Now that we've all got to carefully listen to MX, it's time to rank the last songs on each album! It's important to keep in mind that it's not just about how good the songs are by themselves, but rather how well they close the album. I have to say that, in my opinion, all of the album closers till now have been absolutely epic. Coldplay is really good at choosing them. But well, enough of chatter. Let's go. 1 - Up With the Birds 2 - Amsterdam 3 - Everything's Not Lost / Life is For Living 4 - Twisted Logic / 'Til Kingdom Come 5 - Death and All His Friends / The Escapist- Sound at end of song
I don't have a headphone here now so I can't hear it, but it's quite funny to watch you guys discussing about it because those guesses are really far-off... You see, the possibilities include things like "to mars" or "the two of us" or "priscila" or "verinaba", which are very, VERY distinct...- My Bet!
Well, there's a really good PoC cover here, and it's acoustic! Don't know if people will find it better than the original one, though... [ame= ] [/ame]- Mysterious Lyrics
These lyrics are awesome, they just can't be thrown in the garbage bin without ever being released as proper songs. I'm trying not to have high expectations but it's hard not to believe there might actually be an EP like Prospekt's March with all those unfinished (and really cool) songs. - Mylo Xyloto Sing Along
