When did The Lounge die?
Oh god, does anyone know what happened to Reilly? Last heard he got blocked, was that ever lifted or what?

When did The Lounge die?
I joined here because someone from this forum leaked the Mylo Xyloto title. Remember that? And I left the forum because I received a large amount of hostility. Such a close-knit community might have been intimidating to forum members? I dunno. I still talk to Celine the most, I guess. I follow a bunch of you all on Twitter, I see Molly on there a lot, but I wanna know what happened to Brent, and whether he ever put that down that mug. I do however fucking love the irony that on the Coldplay forum, it became cool to hate Coldplay. And that nobody in the Lounge would admit to liking Coldplay. Brilliant. Only we could've instigated such an atmosphere.

What would you have as a superpower?
Reading women's minds takes the fun out of seeing the look on their face when you make them happy.

What would you have as a superpower?
Can we form a Coldplaying Justice League?

What would you have as a superpower?
Personally though, I'd go for illusion casting, simply because you make anyone believe anything. You could make your date believe you're more attractive. You could make a flight attendant believe you have a ticket. You could make your car look like a Ferrari. You could paint the walls of your room every day of the week. You could make a man in a shop believe that what you just handed him was £8,000 for a new suit. You could make the stewards at concerts believe that you're the performer; hell, if you can bend light, you can probably bend it around yourself so that you can appear invisible. You wouldn't need to speed up time, because you'd just live the life doing whatever you wanted to, whenever you wanted to.

What would you have as a superpower?
Whether or not people knew of your powers or not, there'd always be people out to kill/lab-test evolved humans. The idea with all of these powers is that they're made possible by the power of your mind. You think, "I'd really like to know someone's thoughts," and you can. Or, "I wish I was in London at this specific place," and you are. If you have the ability to fly, you don't contract hypothermia from the colder reaches of the atmosphere, you just feel the sensation of flying and control where you go with your mind. There shouldn't be any logistical technicalities to superpowers, right?

What would you have as a superpower?
Last time I dared poke my head round the corner of the lounge door, it was a bit of a serious place, so no offence taken if this isn't your kind of question. What would you have though? Here's a list of some good ones. Power mimicry/absorption/theft: take the powers of others Telekinesis: move things with your mind Telepathy: hear the thoughts of others Invisibility: become invisible Phasing: move through solid objects Precognition: see the future Chronokinesis: bend time to your will Pyrokinesis: control fire Electrokinesis: control electricity Teleportation: move to another place instantaneously Superspeed: move quickly Enhanced strength: not in a Hulk way, just you're really strong Flight: yeah Cellular regeneration: repair your body when it's injured Shapeshifting: change your appearance Illusion-casting: bend light around you to change what people see, but not actually physically change anything Persuasion: make anyone do anything for you Weather control: summon storms and shit Empathic manipulation: the ability to change people's emotions Alchemy: turn items to gold Dream control: control the dreams of others, not yourself Only pick one, or add your own. Go!

Least favourite song from each album?
High Speed A Whisper Swallowed In The Sea Lost! Us Against The World. Just to clarify, Swallowed In The Sea is the biggest sack of shit the band have ever and probably will ever churn out.

Excitement levels for Ghost Stories
Hey everyone, I'm glad the forum got going again. Ian - if you ever see this - good luck in the future; I heard that you sold the site, so thanks for your fantastic work on the forum, from all involved (though I'm probably by no means the first to say that!). I haven't really come on Coldplaying for a long time, and the only thread that I actually stayed on was the old LP6 thread. I felt things got a bit serious in other parts of the forum and I didn't get on/like some members, but that's in the past. The place where people seemed genuinely enthusiastic about things was in the LP6 thread, where we all speculated on Coldplay's future. Basically, I just wondered how excited we all are for Ghost Stories. More or less than MX? It seems like this album's just crept up on us, we weren't expecting it this soon, and it's a wonderful surprise. But do we like this marketing technique more than the previous era? Hope you're all good. I see a lot of you about on Twitter, anyway!

LP6
They've obviously written these ones as acoustic because they work best as introverted reflections, but what about doing something a bit different with them? Below is one of my songs of the year. The bass is really prominent all the way through, and that's something that worked on Paradise. The little electronic noises are fantastic too, so why not get Jon Hopkins in for something like that? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHotQANrGCE]Bonobo - First Fires - YouTube[/ame] And of course this is just one song that does something different to what could be an acoustic track. Look at Massive Attack, Belle and Sebastian, even Gorillaz: there really is no need to stick to the same formula.

Radiohead did the secret set a couple of years back. They've headlined in the past. Not an impossibility!

LP6
It makes sense for Coldplay to release music in the summer. What if they're this year's secret Glastonbury act?

The French flag is just so beautiful, it's partly why Liberty Leading The People is so striking. I hate patriotism and I'd hate him to wave a British flag, but it's just such a brilliant image to see Chris waving a French flag in Paris.

LP6
Maybe this upcoming charity gig will give them a chance to reassess setlists, directions and the like… it would be very difficult not to be swayed by the crowd's reaction if it's a really good gig, given that they've been off the road for a while.

LP6
Okay, now new question… What would you like to see as a three-song encore? I would say: Death and All His Friends The Scientist Viva La Vida I just think Viva's an excellent one to end on, as it's such a singalong.

LP6
Just because Christmas Lights was a one-off, doesn't mean that's the template the band aree going to follow. Remember the Car Kids EP hype? People are saying about the band going back to Rush sounds, and it's probably only going to surface about as much as it does in Atlas.

LP6
My bet is that Atlas is the blueprint, production-wise, for LP6. I also think Davide Rossi will return for a few songs.

Let's open a new question: If you were to see Coldplay on their next tour, what are five songs you definitely want on the set more than any other? Mine would be Violet Hill (with Chris on piano), Death and all His Friends, 42, Strawberry Swing and Amsterdam. They don't have to be rarities, album tracks or whatever: you can name the big five if you want. It's just a question of what you'd love to see, and what you'd walk away wanting to see next time if they didn't play it this time.

Name all the Coldplay (studio album) songs! ---SPORCLE---
59/59 with 6:44 on the clock. I also got 100% on Doctor Who episodes, which let's face it, is fucking sad.

LP6
I actually saw What If in 2011, and you could see why they don't play much of X&Y, it's quite brooding and epic. I'm not a massive fan of the album, but I adore White Shadows. I'd never like to see it live though because compared to everything else, it's so mechanical, serious and restricting. It doesn't float like Strawberry Swing or Paradise, it's grey concrete, bass-led angst. I think that's what the band have to consider when they pick their setlist: what fits? Life is for Living was perfect for Glastonbury, but Low wasn't. God Put A Smile v2011 won't be so fitting in 2014. We'll have to see where abouts the band go, but seeing as LP6 will likely complete a trilogy, it would be nice if material leant on highlights of those three albums + early classics.

So, I'm considering RADIOHEAD
As I said, I do requests.

What's your all-time favourite thread?
You're great too Celine, but please don't use our petnames on Coldplaying (private only, remember).

Bumped for Cobalt!

What's your all-time favourite thread?
Give me requests and I'll do it. <3

LP6
I've seen it live, but I really feel for my mum; she's seen them twice, never seen it, and it's her favourite. And I feel like as brilliant as most of the setlists are, LP6 should maybe let Rush rest a bit, and start paying more attention to Viva. Where In My Place, God Put A Smile, Warning Sign, Green Eyes and yeah, even the (fantastic) Politik have been rolled out over the course of the MX tour, the likes of 42, DAAHF, Strawberry Swing and Life in Technicolor have been neglected somewhat. Sure, we see Lost! every now and then, Lovers in Japan a fair amount too, but there's not nearly enough rotation for some of the gems on that album. It would be just be nice if they re-evaluated the must-keeps. Maybe stick Talk back on there. Trouble would be nice on the centre-stage. And start playing two Viva tracks per set, and rotate them when you move onto the stadiums!
