Is it me, or is there always someone who says, "I think this album will be their Achtung Baby"? Coldplay don't need an Achtung Baby. The Joshua Tree was so overblown that it's influenced every single arena-rock band since: it's one of those albums you can't ignore, you either have to take it on board or discard it. And Achtung Baby was a deliberate departure from this into a completely new, alien realm for the band. Do Coldplay really need to do that? They evolve on each album enough as it is, really. They can do what they like and it'll always sound like Coldplay, all they really need to do is to set themselves some new challenges of songs they'd like to write, and just work them out. It doesn't need to be an Achtung Baby. There's nothing wrong with how they are at the moment. It wouldn't surprise me if Atlas is similar to the new album: it's lushly produced but it's not exactly an embrace of a style or idea, is it? It's just... Coldplay. They'll no doubt find ways to push themselves on LP6 but people need to stop thinking in boxed ideas of the band sat round the studio saying "Which genres haven't we done yet, freeform jazz?"

We should compile a Coldplaying poetry pamphlet.

I got a leather jacket for £100 in River Island. There were some cheaper ones but they had more pockets, and I wanted one a bit more Alex Turner. Topman didn't have much to choose from unforch But I wanted something cheap(ish) given that I'll have to spend about £600 on suits in a couple of months when I probably quit my job. I work at an outlet of designer brands, Bicester Village, and if you're after something designer but cheap, I'd recommend going down there.

He genuinely thought that everything anyone said on Facebook was addressed to him. Which had confused him for months; why did people tell him such rubbish that he didn't care about or understand? Why would my mate write on his wall when they're in the same room? What's most depressing about the tale though is that he's never liked any of my statuses. He's thought I've been Facebooking him for months and he hasn't bothered to reply to any of it. Haha.

It wouldn't be Doctor Who if it wasn't the Doctor though. They're not going to reset it, because it would be building an entire series up for 50 years and then destroying it to start again. I'm going to say the same things to you that I say to Tennant fans who long for him to come back: Doctor Who is a show about change, moving on and embracing new ideas. It's very unlikely that they're going to go back to the start again, so don't get your hopes up.

I am also looking for a leather jacket. I found that River Island have a broader range than Topshop, but if you want to buy genuine leather it'll cost £150. If you want to buy similar, it starts at a third of the price. I'm going to London with my girlfriend on Friday, I'll report back with prices, styles and the like.

I still think they should pick everything about the band. They really do know best what reflects the songs, given that they'd have spent an age with them, working on them etc. Things become a bit X Factor when fans pick and choose what they want from their music. Artists should create art, and fans should then take what the artist produces. That's just my opinion though, of course. It's a good idea in theory, but in practice, I could never see myself agreeing with it for a band like Coldplay. That's not to say I'm right and everyone else is wrong, I just think Coldplay have such clear identity when it comes to deciding what's best for their music.

Nah, I don't agree I'm afraid. People don't know what they want, and I want the band to control every aspect of the album. Fan participation is for live events. What happens in the studio should be mythologised to the point of fable.
