Chris Martin Quotes
At the end of White Shadows on Abbey Road 2006, he says: my own mother is in the audience and I'd appreciate it if you can recognize her. If she hadn't had 3 whiskeys and let my dad have his wicked ways, the world of balladic (a word he made up) melodies would never be the same.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Maybe 1 of these days 1 of them will write an autobiography and we'll know for sure.LOL I haven't ordered McGinn's book b/c reviews say it's really more technical, more about the roadies experience and almost nothing about the band. Just a week before your Toronto gig, the band's Atlanta gig on Sept. 14, 2002 was rained out and Chris and Jonny went basking for the loyal fans who were still lining up in the parking lot. You can hear Chris volunteering the info and joking about Gwyneth saying it's a marvelous rumor but it's not true. The MP3 is in MM. Also on Sept. 6/2002 at BBC Radio 1 gig, he's boasting about how he's been linked with glamorous stars such as Natalie Imbruglia and Gwyneth Paltrow. You can see how his attitude completely changed when it became a reality.

I don't watch Politik on youtube. I have this very nice and clear copy on my computer that I run to every time I want to watch the Grammys performance. I can't remember where I got it but the quality is much better than anything they have on youtube.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Oh the album X&Y is dedicated to Bruce Paltrow among other people, and Chris has said in interviews that he was proud to have done that. People approach him on tour and tell him stories about how Mr. paltrow gave them their 1st job. He regrets that he never got to meet him. I have no doubt Fix You is in part about Gwyneth's sorrow. Chris is always vague in interviews, he doesn't deny it, but he always says it's about other events as well. I know his theory is that 1x a song is out there, and people have made it their own, he doesn't feel comfortable talking about the inspiration behind it. Just the other day I read the article quoting Blythe Danner saying that Fix You is about their family and their sorrow when her husband passed away. She would definitely know, right? What happened on Sept. 21, 2002 in Toronto that made you believe they had already met? I also have my doubts about Coldplay Performance at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC on Aug. 20, 2002. Chris claims he was too busy having fun with Noel Gallagher after the concert to meet with Gwynnie. But perhaps phone #s were exchanged?

Random Coldplay thoughts...
ROFL! I'm a self-employed little old lady with too much time on my hands, and a sucker for a good love story. Since I got into Coldplay last summer, I've devoured every single article I could find about the band and the boys. I was particularly obsessed with finding out how Chris and Gwyneth met and that's the results of my research so far.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
That story if factually false. Bruce Paltrow died in Italy on October 3rd, 2002. Gwyneth had flown family and some of her closest friends to Italy to celebrate her 30th birthday. She and her dad stayed behind to spend a little more time together when the latter who was battling throat cancer suddenly died. 2-3 weeks later she went to London to start working on Sylvia, a role she had taken on her dad's recommendation. So on 10/21/02 she attended a Coldplay gig at Wembley Arena where Chris dedicated In My Place to her. Chris says they had been linked together b/c Gwyneth had attended a Coldplay concert during the summer. So he thought it'd be funny to dedicate a song to her. From all the legit articles I've read, it seems 10/21/02 is the 1st time they actually got to meet. A week later, Gwyneth attended another Coldplay gig in Dublin, then shortly after that, a creepy London cab driver who always had a camera under his cab seat snapped their picture from their back as he dropped them off at Chris' pad. He also allerted the paps who camped in front of Chris' apartment where the couple emerged 3 hrs later to go to dinner. So as heartfelt as that story is, it really doesn't match the truth. Chris and Gwynnie weren't an item at the time, and Chris certainly wasn't in Italy since he has said in interviews that he never met his father-in-law.

Everybody Read This And Express Your Thoughts!
Chris has said Politik was written 2 days (9/13/2001) after the events of 9/11 and was very much inspired by these events. There's a Grammy survey that counts the Politik performance among the most memorable performances EVER at the Grammies along icons like Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Elton John, etc. When you consider that Coldplay was (were) a little known indie band at the time, that's a great achievement. For my part, I cannot watch or listen to Politik only 1x. I replay the whole song a few times, then replay it from "give me love over this" to the end a few more times. The only reason I'm hesitant to call it my absolute Coldplay best song is b/c I feel some loyalty toward Fix You. After all, without the latter I still might not have gotten into Coldplay music.

Rihanna is "obsessed" with Gwyneth Paltrow BANG Showbiz Wednesday, April 11, 2012 (Los Angeles) Rihanna is a huge fan of the Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow. The You Da One singer said that she's very envious of her lifestyle and her amazing body. Rihanna said: "I'm obsessed with Gwyneth. Honestly, what is it not? It makes me so jealous all the time ... her body ... I'm really jealous of her, I don't even know why I like her." As well as being impressed with Gwyneth, Rihanna was very flattered when the blonde beauty's husband Chris Martin covered her song We Found Love with his band Coldplay. During an appearance on a radio show she said: "Honestly it's flattering and special to know that other musicians appreciate your music ... To have a band like Coldplay that was just surreal, and if I love it, that's extra points. I know Coldplay, we collaborated together, we worked in the studio, shot a video just recently." The 23-year-old pop beauty - who recorded the duet Princess of China with the band - also spoke about posing in her underwear and said that she only feels confident about it because she knows the images will be photoshopped. When asked if she was comfortable being in her underwear, Rihanna said: "Totally, especially when it's photoshopped. I'm comfortable in my underwear around the right people." http://movies.ndtv.com/movie_story.aspx?Section=Movies&ID=ENTEN20120199283&subcatg=MOVIESINDIA&keyword=music&nid=196339

Article: Chipotle's "Back To The Start" Sets Precedent....
Chipotle's "Back To The Start" Sets Precedent As Big Winner At ADC Awards NEW YORK, April 10, 2012, --- For the first time in the 91-year history of the Art Directors Club's Annual Awards, the top ADC Gold Cube winner was not a traditional advertising or design agency. Instead the major honoree was talent/packaging agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Los Angeles, on the strength of its short film/spot "Back to the Start" directed by Johnny Kelly of Nexus, London, for the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation. The ADC announced global winners this week, with the formal awards ceremony scheduled for May 8 in New York. "Back to the Start" won four ADC Gold Cubes and two Silver Cubes in Advertising, Interactive and Motion. The stop motion animation short also garnered Gold in sound design for Duotone Audio Group, New York. The short is propelled by Willie Nelson's cover of Coldplay's "The Scientist," with David Leinheardt of Duotone Audio Group handling music supervision. Barnaby Templer and J.M. Finch of Fonic, London, served as sound designer and audio post mixer, respectively. "Back To The Start" centers on a misguided farmer who slowly turns his family farm into an industrial animal factory before seeing the error of his ways and opting for a more sustainable future. The beautifully executed animation is all contained in one long panning "shot" and has no voiceover, leaving the music to tell the story. And for that, CAA turned to Duotone which came up with a tailored edit of Coldplay's "The Scientist" that not only matched the mood of the film but also scored to picture naturally and powerfully. Sync licensing was handled by Duotone EP Leinheardt. Nelson was an ideal choice to perform the song. He co-founded Farm Aid, which assists and increases awareness of family farms. His full-length cover is available for download from iTunes, with proceeds going to the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, a Chipotle restaurants initiative which benefits the small and sustainable farms movement. Meanwhile, another big ADC winner was BETC Euro RSCG, Paris, which won three Golds and a Silver in Advertising for the humorous CANAL+ spot "The Bear" featuring a bear as a leading cinema director. The actual director behind "The Bear" was Matthijs van Heijningen via Soixante Quinze, Paris. VFX house was Mikros Image. A full rundown of ADC Gold, Silver, Bronze Cube and Merit winners can be found here. This year's winners represented 24 countries. At the awards gala next month, the club will announce the winner of its second-annual ADC Designism Award honoring work for a nonprofit that drives social or political change. In addition, recipients of this year's Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Design Team of the Year and School of the Year honors, based upon a cumulative points system, will be revealed. The awards will be celebrated at the ADC 91st Annual Awards Gala on May 8 at Espace in New York. An exhibition of winning work will run May 9-24 at the ADC Gallery in New York. Here's a rundown of ADC Gold Cube winners in all categories: http://www.shootonline.com/go/news-view.rs-web4-3639065-1334081091-2.Chipotle-s--Back-To-The-Start--Sets-Precedent-As-Big-Winner-At-ADC-Awards.html

Gwyneth...
Aww I hadn't seen this one. It reminded me of an interview where Chris called himself an honorary Jew now that he's married to an half Jew.:laugh3: There's another one from when she was promoting Iron Man which is equally hilarious.

I really can't tell, but most of their pictures were taken in 2003. Gwynnie traveled with the band for months.
