So uh...why don't go listen to those bands? If those sounds define what you want so well :rolleyes: This again brings up the suggestion not to use band names to state what you would like to hear. I think mentioning a precise sound of some band is odd, because if Coldplay went for that, wouldn't it be, well, copying? Albeit probably a bad one, since they're Coldplay and not that other band.

I'd love them to create something with an orchestra! Just think how majestic Politik was at the Grammys 2003 with the New York orchestra - maybe they could do some more songs from their backlog. Well, this wouldn't exactly be LP6-material, but, uh, at least b-sides? Better than getting club remixes, imo.

Today in the morning Viva la Vida was playing on the radio and my friend with which I was at the concert... didn't even react. Not a muscle on her face. :blank:

"On the MX tour he was playing Martin D-15 M's (FYI: D= dreadnought body shape/ number = style, the higher the number the more fancy appointments, binding, inlays etc/ M= mahogany). He used six or seven in a show, set up for different songs/tunings and all painted different)." He also went on to tell me: "His favorite is a 1985 (I think) made D-28 which doesn't tour. I believe he originally rented this from John Henry's Hire dept. a long time ago and subsequently bought it from them. Amongst the others, he has a vintage pre-war D-28. Also D-42, or 45 K (K=Koa wood) from the 70's (I think!) Also he may have a OO-15CE (OO= body size, small/ C= cutaway/ E=electric) somewhere. He used these on the Rush of Blood tour. He has recently been recording with 2 new HD-28's (H= herringbone, which is a style of binding they previously used on pre-war made D-28's) that have been modified, and a couple of specially made 12 string versions of D-15 M's." A Spell A Rebel Yell - it was the second song of the Viva era to be released, right? I wonder how stunned all the fans must have been with the change from X&Y style.

I wouldn't be suprised if they had been messing with new material ever since they fully finished MX, like from the time we got a picture of a USB key on 9th September 2011.

May I very nicely ask why you (and not only you) feel such need to put their music in a box, to label it as one genre or another? I'm not disagreeing with what you prefer or think Coldplay's best sound was. Just why is separating into genres so important?
