2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
If Coldplay are worried about bringing the tour to certain places because of the costs of the wristbands cutting into the profit margins, just do away with the damned things. I'm sure it looks cool, but I would gladly give up the wristbands to see a Coldplay concert.

2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
Here are some figures from the VLV tour of cities they haven't visited yet. I'd say they probably won't be back to Hershey or Scranton, but all other cities seem to have fairly decent numbers. Ottawa- 12,121 / 15,082 Denver- 11,656 / 11,656 Salt Lake City- 11,598 / 11,598 Phoenix- 13,257 / 13,257 Birmingham- 8,230 / 10,259 Virginia Beach- 15,877 / 20,055 Hartford 2009- 13,877 / 24,713 Hershey / Scranton consolidated- 11,582 / 25,770 Pittsburgh- 13,084 / 23,214 Buffalo- 12,481 / 21,193 Cincinnati- 15,375 / 20,383 Indianapolis- 19,825 / 24,680 Nashville- 13,835 / 13,835 New Orleans- 11,574 / 12,247 San Antonio- 13,152 / 13,152 Des Moines- 9,887 / 10,751 Omaha- 9,629 / 10,636 Winnipeg- 12,619 / 12,619 Sacramento- 13,339 / 18,500 San Diego- 19,588 / 19,588 East Troy- Drawing from Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison- 27,123 / 34,883 Saratoga Springs, NY- 15,200 / 25,277 Raleigh- 19,422 / 19,422 I'd say for the most part these cities warrant a return visit, perhaps consolidating Omaha/Des Moines into one show. Coldplay could not play stadiums in the US outside of NYC, Boston, Philly, Chicago, LA and possibly Washington D.C. and San Francisco. They're very popular here, but stadium concerts are nowhere near the norm in the US. Only the biggest of the big play them. U2, Paul McCartney, Bruce, Rolling Stones, etc.

2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
Portland Boise Salt Lake City Denver Las Vegas Sacramento San Diego Phoenix Albuquerque San Antonio or Austin New Orleans Oklahoma City Birmingham, Alabama Nashville / Memphis Louisville Cincinnati Columbus Cleveland St. Louis Indianapolis Kansas City Omaha Des Moines Milwaukee / East Troy-Alpine Winnipeg Pittsburgh Buffalo Albany / Saratoga Springs Hartford Scranton / Hershey Charlottesville or Virginia Beach Raleigh These are all cities that have not been played yet that were played on the VLV or X&Y tours. I'm not saying they have to play all these cities, but they probably could do arena or amphitheater shows in most of these cities and sell a decent amount of tickets. Also, return visits to the following are possible: DC/Baltimore area Philly NYC Boston Montreal Toronto Chicago LA

2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
I hope Columbus or Cincinnati is on the schedule in 2013!!

2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
They just did 2 big stadium shows in South Africa's 2 main cities last October, so I'd say that's probably all you're going to get in South Africa. Latin America stadium tour is a definite, as is another US leg, most likely in arenas NOT stadiums. I'd say another European leg is probable, but I'm not sure where they'd play that they haven't already.

Coldplay live in Indonesia
Coldplay are pretty much confirmed to be going to Australia in November/December. It only makes sense that while they're in that neck of the woods that they'll play a few asian shows as well, because that's just what tours do. Japan is almost a certainty, and then lots of bands play shows in places like South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India and Indonesia while in this area. So while don't believe anything until officially announced, it's not at all an outrageous possibility

[9-Jun-2012] Coldplay @ Capital FM's Summertime Ball 2012, Wembley Stadium, London, England
Is this some kind of charity event?? Because otherwise, it makes very little sense for them to play this show. Even from a purely financial perspective, it's a relative waste of time.

Dublin, Ireland gig in 2012?
Well this is probably why nothing has been announced for Ireland... they can't find a place to play. Even U2 have a harder time booked concerts in their own country than anywhere else, it seems. Probably too many big stadium events booked already for this summer. Before this tour ends there will be date(s) in Ireland though, mark my words!
-
Additional Legs?
Yeah could possibly hit up the sheds in late spring/early summer in the US/Canada after the March/April Latin America tour as well. I just hope they come to either Columbus or Cincinnati, or else I'll be forced to miss out!!!
-
Additional Legs?
They originally said they intended for this tour to last until summer 2013. With that said, this is my prediction for how the rest of this tour will look. April-September 2012- North America/Europe, which we already know. November/December 2012- Australia (confirmed to be happening. probably also dates in New Zealand, Japan, and maybe other southeast asian countries) January/February/March 2013- North American arenas, then head to south to Mexico, then heading further south into..... March/April 2013- Latin America leg, confirmed by band members to be happening in March/April Early summer 2013- More European dates, stadium or arena, who knows?
-
What are the chances of Coldplay doing a third set of gigs in London?
Agreed, if you want to see them really bad, somehow obtain tickets for the Emirates Stadium show. The rest of this tour will probably play out as having Australia/NZ/Southeast Asia in Nov/Dec, South America is rumored for Feb/March, and there will probably (hopefully) be some more US dates next spring-ish. Which would put them up to summer 2013, and I doubt they'll do another European stadium tour. GET TICKETS NOW!

Dublin, Ireland gig in 2012?
It'll most likely be at Slane Castle this summer. The only question is when? The Slane concert is always held on a Saturday night, so I guess find an available Saturday night during the European legs of the tour, and you'll have a good idea of when the show will be!

2012 North America Tour announced!
Same boat here! Cincy/Columbus would best best, but I've been to Cleveland for Coldplay before! They said more dates will be announced in January/February, so I imagine us "less-important" folks in Ohio will get a bone thrown our way!

2012 North America Tour announced!
I can't imagine that they'd leave out the entire midwest (except Chicago). I'd expect them later this year or sometime in 2013. I'm unfortunately going to have to wait until they can come to Ohio, as traveling to Chicago for a concert isn't really possible for me.

2012 European Stadium Tour announced
These dates are on the wikipedia link: ????????????????????? 24 September 2012 Glasgow Scotland Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre 25 September 2012 Aberdeen Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre 27 September 2012 Edinburgh Edinburgh Castle 1 October 2012 Cardiff Wales Millennium Stadium 3 October 2012 London England The O2 Arena 4 October 2012 Wembley Arena 6 October 2012 Manchester Manchester Evening News Arena 7 October 2012 Liverpool Echo Arena 9 October 2012 Dublin Ireland The O2 10 October 2012 12 October 2012 Belfast Northern Ireland Odyssey Arena 13 October 2012 15 October 2012 Kirkcaldy Scotland Adam Smith Theatre 16 October 2012 Beveridge Park 18 October 2012 Edinburgh Edinburgh Playhouse 19 October 2012 Murrayfield Stadium 22 October 2012 Aberdeen Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre 25 October 2012 Newcastle England Metro Radio Arena Australia + Asia[18][17] 26 November 2012 Melbourne Australia Rod Laver Arena 27 November 2012 Adelaide Adelaide Entertainment Centre 29 November 2012 Sydney Sydney Entertainment Centre 1 December 2012 Brisbane Brisbane Entertainment Centre 3 December 2012 Newcastle Newcastle Entertainment Centre 7 December 2012 Wellington New Zealand TSB Bank Arena 13 December 2012 Auckland Auckland Entertainment Centre 16 December 2012 Tokyo Japan Studio Coast 17 December 2012 19 December 2012 Nagoya Zepp Nagoya 20 December 2012 21 December 2012 Osaka Zepp Osaka Europe[19][17] 24 December 2012 London England The 02 Arena 28 December 2012 Birmingham National Indoor Arena 29 December 2012 30 December 2012 Glasgow Scotland Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre 31 December 2012 Edinburgh Princess Street (New Year Concert 2011-2012) While most of this seems possible, especially since this tour schedule so far has been very unusual, the Australia/NZ and Japan dates don't seem right. I'd think they'd be able to do singular stadium shows in each city, or at least multiple nights in arenas. The the venues for Japan are VERY small. Plus, the large amount of Scottish dates seems very unusual.

2012 European Stadium Tour announced
Spain, Belgium and Norway are the big ones missing from this schedule, and they'll most likely be slid in somewhere. There are gaps in the schedule, especially in September, where these could easily go. As far as the eastern Europe dates, who knows, but this tour is supposed to last until summer 2013 so I'm sure they'll get there at some point. The specifically said Finland and Russia would be included, so I'd say it's likely at some point. Just be patient, I'm sure this crazy tour schedule might make sense someday. I have to wait until they announce something in Ohio, as the closest show to me is Chicago, which is not doable at all. Hang in there!

Multiple Shows / City?
The tour schedule will probably look something like this. 2nd shows won't be announced until the 1st shows sell out, as is usually standard with any band. 17 Edmonton, AB @ Rexall Place [discussion] 18 Calgary, AB @ Scotiabank Saddledome [discussion] 20 Vancouver, BC @ Rogers Arena [discussion] * 21 Vancouver 2nd show* 24 Portland, OR @ Rose Garden Arena [discussion] 25 Seattle, WA @ KeyArena [discussion] 27 San Jose, CA @ HP Pavilion At San Jose [discussion] *28 San Jose 2nd show* MAY 2012 1 Los Angeles, CA @ Hollywood Bowl [discussion] 2 Los Angeles, CA @ Hollywood Bowl [discussion] JUNE 2012 22 Dallas, TX @ American Airlines Center [discussion] *Maybe 2nd Dallas show, or else someplace close by like OK City* 25 Houston, TX @ Toyota Center [discussion] 28 Tampa, FL @ St. Pete Times Forum [discussion] 29 Miami, FL @ American Airlines Arena [discussion] *30 Miami 2nd show* JULY 2012 2 Atlanta, GA @ Philips Arena [discussion] *3 Atlanta 2nd show* 5 Philadelphia, PA @ Wells Fargo Center [discussion] *6 Philadelphia 2nd show* 8 Washington, DC @ Verizon Center [discussion] * 9 Washington DC 2nd show* 23 Toronto, ON @ Air Canada Centre [discussion] *24 Toronto 2nd show* 26 Montreal, QC @ Bell Centre [discussion] * Montreal 2nd show* 29 Boston, MA @ TD Garden [discussion] *30 Boston 2nd show) AUGUST 2012 3 East Rutherford, NJ @ Izod Center [discussion] *4 East Rutherford (aka NYC) 2nd show, possible 3rd show on 5th 7 Chicago, IL @ United Center [discussion] *8 Chicago 2nd show) 11 St. Paul, MN @ Xcel Energy Center [discussion] (don't know if St. Paul could do 2 shows or not) Missing cities/areas missed that will probably come late in year after Europe tour, or sometime next year: Carolina- Raleigh or Charlotte Tennessee- Memphis or Nashville Ohio- Cincy, Columbus or Cleveland... 2012 tour date rumours (please post dates for ALL countries in here)
Looks like we Ohioans are going to have to wait until they deem the second tier (and maybe even third tier?) markets worthy of playing. Probably late 2012, or maybe even sometime in 2013. Depressing to say the least! :(

2012 tour date rumours (please post dates for ALL countries in here)
I thought I remember hearing that other than these few December European dates, the tour wouldn't actually begin until April. My guess is that April-May will be US arenas, then Europe outdoors from late May-July/August. Then US outdoors August-October.

Tour to have a 360 degree stage?
Playing a venue in 360 is hardly something U2 invented with their last tour. It's been done by many artists for many years. U2 were even playing arenas 360 as far back as Unforgettable Fire era (84-85). U2 were just the first to do it on the massive scale of stadiums. It's hardly ripping off U2 to play in 360 degress, just a way to sell more tickets and maximize the venues' capacity. I believe the SECC is shaped in such a way that there are no seats behind the stage anyway. Also, US amphitheaters and probably ALL stadiums gigs will not be 360.

2012 tour date rumours (please post dates for ALL countries in here)
Was just about to post the same thing about SNL/NA tour dates announcement. I'd be very surprised if they didn't announce some NA tour dates next week.

2012 tour date rumours (please post dates for ALL countries in here)
As far as the US is concerned, they will probably do stadiums in LA, San Francisco, Chicago, NY, Boston, Philly and Washington D.C., and the usual arenas/amphitheaters in all other cities. While they are popular here, I don't think they're big enough to play stadiums outside of the major cities.

Wow! This album is getting slaughtered by the press and fans!
Coldplay have enjoyed absolutely nothing but success in the past 11-12 years, which is unusual for a band. They are due for a backlash of some sort, regardless of how good/bad an album is. The fact that MX is a "challenging" record isn't going to help this fact. I personally think it's pretty good, and look forward to it growing on me. I don't think this album will be a flop, but it will probably be enough to cause a slight backlash, which will be followed by Coldplay revisiting (retreating) to the sounds of Parachutes and A Rush of blood. While I don't agree that they should repeat themselves, I do think that next time they need to be reigned in just a little bit, tone down the synths, and sound more like a 4 piece band again.

MX tour announcement?
I'm an Ohioan as well! First saw Coldplay at the LC Pavilion in Columbus, 2003. To see them in such an intimate setting before they were HUGE was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Saw them again in 2005 in Cbus and 2006 in Cleveland, but completely missed the Viva la Vida tour. Needless to say, I'm overdue! Hope to see them twice in Ohio, and hopefully they hit Columbus this time, since I live less than an hour from there.

UK European Winter Tour - 9 dates announced so far (19th Sept 2011)
There will definitely be more dates added in September, given those gaps in the UK schedule. There will definitely be 2-3 dates in London. And if this is all there is, there will probably be a UK stadium tour next summer. Living in the UK, trust me, you'll have plenty of opportunities to see them. Have fun at your shows!
