North American Leg 2017
These prices are absolutely crazy. I've been a huge Coldplay since 2000-01, when I was 18. I've seen them in a small theater venue, and in arenas and large amphitheaters and now they've become a stadium act. I have been right there with them, and live all their albums. I'm very proud of them, but I refuse to pay these prices. I can't wrap my head around it. I actually earn a decent living, I COULD afford it, but I choose not to. and judging from the amount of unsold seats I'm seeing on ticketmaster, I'm not alone.

North American Leg 2017
Probably the delay is Atlanta is that they don't know if they'll have a venue. The current stadium, Georgia Dome, is set for demolision this winter. The new stadium is supposed to be up and going by football season. Maybe that's part of the reason Atlanta wasn't announced today. There is almost a month ago in the schedule after Miami, my guess is Atlanta will be added there. It's just a question of will it be at the new stadium, or will they go the arena route? The south is quite under represented. They should add shows in Tampa, Atlanta, Nashville and somewhere in the Caroline's.

I'm sure as hell gonna be there! WOOOO!!! I haven't seen Coldplay since 2006, so I'm WAY overdue.

When will the North American tour of AHFOD happen?
Upon a first glance, there are several cities they aren't hitting in North America so far. Seattle Portland San Diego Houston San Antonio New Orleans Nashville Atlanta Tampa Miami Raleigh / Charlotte Washington D.C. Hartford Cleveland Kansas City Omaha / Lincoln / Des Moines Milwaukee Minneapolis Vancouver Calgary Edmonton Winnipeg Toronto Ottawa Quebec City Montreal That's 27 cities that most bands play on a tour that Coldplay haven't announced. Obviously they won't play ALL of those cities, but there's easily a 20 show NA leg based on that list alone, plus they could do a couple arena shows in LA or NYC, for instance.
-
When are additional shows to the first 10 going to be announced?
I can understand wanting to sell out the stadium dates first. But they've done that, other than Chicago 2 and LA 2, which probably won't sell out completely, but will still have large crowds. I wonder why they did that bout of promotion in March, Tonight Show and Today Show? To further sell an album that's been out for 4 months? Maybe... but the way that Indianapolis date was leaked onto ticketmaster and then pulled off right before those TV shows leads me to believe something was about to be announced, and then wasn't, but they still had the promo appearances. Who knows what they're doing? They still have plenty of time, but something needs to be announced sometime this month I'd think.

When are additional shows to the first 10 going to be announced?
Do we think the July 20th Indianapolis date that ticketmaster put up, and then took down, is actually true? They're currently 3.5 months from the US tour start, still some time to add some arena shows.

[2016-08-27] AT&T Stadium, DALLAS, TX
It appears that for the most part, yes, Dallas is sold out. There are a few random unsold tickets on ticket master's interactive map, but they're mostly singles. Other than Chicago 2 and LA 2, the shows are basically all sold out. NOW would be the time to announce more shows... actually a week ago at this time would've been the time!

When will the North American tour of AHFOD happen?
Exactly this. I've seen countless bands announce tours, and they are going to start with these big stadium shows first. They want to ensure these sell out first, because it's actually a bit of a gamble for a "youngish" band like Coldplay to play stadium in the US. That's also why all these stadium shows are on Saturdays, that is the day of the week most people don't have to work, and can cut loose and make plans for things like concerts. My prediction is that they will add arena shows during the week between these stadium shows. Also, like I said before, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver will at least get shows for Canada, if not other cities as well. They are going to utilize the publicity from the Super Bowl to maximize ticket sales all over the country, not just 7 cities. Have patience.

When will the North American tour of AHFOD happen?
These are only the shows in the US they feel confident playing stadiums. There will be more dates. Notice how all 7 of these shows are on Saturdays? That's to ensure maximum sales. If I had to guess, they will do arenas/amphitheaters in the smaller cities during the week, between the big stadium shows. As for Canada, I'd say Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver are guaranteed. Literally every tour by every band goes there. They've had success in those cities in the past, and will return. Other cities like Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary are also good possibilities. Also, Seattle was teased in the skyline thing, but so far so Seattle show has been announced. There will be many more North American shows added. My source: being a fan of many bands, and watching how countless yours have unfolded in the past.

Coldplay World Tour 2016 - 2017 Discussion
For Europe, they aren't playing a lot of places they should/could. Ireland, Belgium, Portugal, Paris (definitely 2 stadium shows in Paris), Italy, Austria, Czech, Poland, Finland, Norway, other eastern Europe countries? There will be more shows, possibly even another leg. Maybe an indoor arena leg in the winter?

When will the North American tour of AHFOD happen?
North American tour will be in the second half of summer, July/August/September, and tickets will go onsale right after the Super Bowl, for maximum promotion. Bank on it. (I don't know any of this to be a fact, but it's a fairly predictable timetable).

Coldplay World Tour 2016 - 2017 Discussion
They definitely will NOT skip Italy. There will be more shows added. I'm not sure why they don't just announce all the shows at once, but lots of bands do that and it's annoying. There are many gaps in the tour schedule where an Italian show could be added. I think there was a rumor awhile ago that they were playing Rome next summer, at Circus Maximo or something like that. I'd hold out if I were you, but a vacation to Barcelona could be fun also!

Guesses on when the Ghost Stories Tour will start?
I believe the album will be released in the Sept/Oct timeframe, which is the other rumor. I'd expect some 2nd half summer festivals, Summersonic Japan, Leeds/Reading and the like, album promo stuff in Sept/Oct, then probably do some arena Europe shows around Nov/Dec, then maybe in the Jan/Feb 2015 area do the South American stadium shows they promised, US arenas in the spring, European stadiums in the summer, US arenas/amphitheaters in the late summer/early fall, and then Australia/NZ/Asia shows late 2015. Seems like a pretty predictable touring pattern.

LP6
Most likely, "Atlas" is a song they've been working on as a contender for LP6, along with many other songs. At some point, they determined that while they like "Atlas", it is not a fit for where they want to take LP6. Then the opportunity to make a song for this film soundtrack came, and they had the perfect song for it. Or, they were specifically asked to make a song for the movie, and worked a song up during the the LP6 sessions. I'm sure they are closer to finishing LP6 than U2 are to finishing their LP13, which has been in the making with Danger Mouse since 2010 sometime.

New tour required!
They'll probably do some festivals next summer in Europe, to preview some new material. New album will be come out probably next fall, making it 3 years since MX, which all signs seem to point to. I hope they come to Ohio this time. I haven't seen Coldplay since 2006 in Cleveland.

LP6
I imagine that summer 2014 will be when either the album is released, or at least the first single. They'll certainly want to play some festivals and warmup shows next summer. I wouldn't look for anything before next summer. Roughly a year from now!

Latin American Tour 2013 [CANCELLED - GENERAL DISCUSSION HERE]
That is really shitty that they haven't said anything one way or another after 2 months. You don't announce shows, postpone them indefinitely 2 days later, and then remain silent for 2 months. And I don't wanna hear excuses like "they need a break" and "they don't owe us anything more". Bullshit. Their fans made them who they are, they owe EVERYTHING to every single one of their fans. They should look at their fans as customers, and in order to keep customers, the customers have to be kept happy.

2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
I'm pretty pissed that they didn't come to Ohio on this tour. On the VLV tour they played 81 concerts in North America. MX tour, 39!!! I'm 30 years old with kids and a career, I can't justify going to Detroit or Chicago for concerts anymore. But there are SO MANY cities they didn't hit this time. I missed the VLV tour for reasons that were beyond my control, and now I'm gonna miss this tour also! So the next US tour isn't likely to happen until 2015, which would make it 9 years between Coldplay concerts!!! Saw them in Columbus in 2003 and 2005, and Cleveland 2006.

Rumor is pretty strong that it's Muse.

Latin American Tour 2013 [CANCELLED - GENERAL DISCUSSION HERE]
If they get nominated for some Grammys, then we'll know that's the reason for the postponement. Maybe they will do a short US leg Jan/Feb, then do SA/Mexico in March/April. I hope this is the case, for myself here in Ohio, and for those of you who are directly affected by this postponement.

2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
I absolutely hope I'm wrong, but didn't the band say that the tour was over after the Australian shows, and that they were taking 2013 off so that Gweneth can be with her mother? I think they probably will do South America and Mexico in the first third of next year, but I think that'll probably be it. Again, I hope I'm wrong, because I didn't get to see the MX tour! Saw them once on AROBTTH tour, twice on Twisted Logic, and !!ZERO!! times on the VLV tour. So I was really looking forward to seeing them this time, and figured they'd at least come to one of Ohio's three major cities.

Dublin, Ireland gig in 2012?
I'm afraid that the Oxygen festival in 2011 was the Irish stop of the MX tour. Seems unusual to skip on a market that could probably have guaranteed them a full stadium show, but then again most of the scheduling on this tour hasn't really made sense.

Latin American Tour 2013 [CANCELLED - GENERAL DISCUSSION HERE]
Don't worry, they'll play Mexico. The potential to sell a lot of tickets and make a lot of money is there. This source is for information pertaining ONLY to South America. My guess is Mexico is either just before/after these South American dates. Hoping that Mexico dates will lead to more shows in North America, particularly Ohio!

2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
The band said they'd be in South America in Feb/March. That's still 8-9 months away. Tickets don't normally go on sale that early for concerts. I'd imagine you'll hear something in September/October if that is in fact the timeframe they plan on coming. They'll probably also return to the US in the first half of 2013 for arena shows. I wouldn't expect to hear anything at least until after the 2012 US tour is over. Also, I can't imagine them not playing Japan/other Asian cities around the same time as the Australian dates later this year. Then, I can see them doing another European tour next summer too, focusing mostly on eastern Europe, and countries they haven't visited like Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, etc. Don't worry, they'll hit as many places as they can. Too much $$$$ is at stake for them not to. It just might take them a little time. They said from the start that this tour will probably last until summer 2013, so just be patient! I'm patiently awaiting the announcement of an Ohio date, as I can't make any of the 2012 US shows!
