Hi Guys, Just wanted to share with you my recently completed travel documentary on the Philippines. A fascinating blend of history, humor, breathtaking imagery, blahblah etcetera! Hehe. In all honesty though, its pretty neat and I've been getting a lot of good feedback on it. Been working on it for the past 4 months or so and I'm glad its finally finished. what's up coldplayers, I made this not too long ago for a contest and thought it'd be nice to post it up here for all of you to check out. it's my arrangement for dre and snoop's classic "Nuthin but a G Thang" - I built it around the original synths that were already in the song, which you can hear during the bridge and chorus. then I gave it new drums, a new bass line, and of course guitars! check it out. hope you like it :cool: Dr. Dre feat. You know, you're right. I mean, with both of us rapping for the entire song, and featuring an actual auto-tuned R&B singer, taking , what were we thinking? Oh, wait. yeah... we don't actually have any of that stuff. Not even close :rolleyes: lol thanks. I want to try to sneak it into a club and somehow slide it into the DJ's setlist. :lol: HA! So my buddy and I decided to take a stab at the current, and extremely annoying, trend in contemporary rap and R&B music these days: Auto-Tune!! Everyone from horrible singers to decent rappers have used it at this point, and it is lame. So, why not give it a try myself? :D It's a parody on the entire genre... clubs, money, alcohol, cars, you name it. And we made it as absolutely ridiculous as we could (but still trying to make it sound reasonably decent, if that makes any sense :confused:), and after a few weeks work, the result I think came out wonderfully. The song is called "Drippin'" and it's about girls in hot clubs who, well... you'll find out soon enough ;) - So without further ado, here is the link! Man that would be extremely amazing... but Danger Mouse is in a league of his own, I don't think anything will ever touch the greatness that is The Grey Album. Judging from these samples, though, it's certain Viva La Hova will be way more than a mashup album. Samples in the snippet: 1) High Speed 2) The Scientist 3) Fix You 4) Clocks 5) ??? The closest thing I could think of for no. 5 is Everything's Not Lost, but arranged completely differently. I seriously can't get enough of the Fix You one... fcking awesome. :D

When can we expect Vol. 2? ;)

I like this because it goes far beyond the concept of a "mashup" - i.e., it's not too hard to find isolated vocal tracks and tempo-match it to another track, but it's a whole different game when you're taking small bits here and there, rearranging pieces, adding your own beats on top, etc (an epic example being Dangermouse's "The Grey Album"). From the sample track, I can already tell that the one using the Fix You sample is going to be a winner. That one is sweet ;)
