Hooray for section 113! :D Talk about really getting lucky on Ticketmaster... hahaha. Here's my view from 113 (taken during LiJ confetti madness). Camera phone pic isn't the best quality but just to give you an idea...: Unfortunately there were no confetti blasters back here. But if you looked up in the rafters, you could see crew with confetti bags running around and dumping them on people (but none made it to 113! :cry:) I was almost right behind the guys during their acoustics, which was phenomenal. Again, pics aren't too sharp as (a) cameraphone, and (b) my hands were shaking because I was excited. :laugh3: Here is Will singing Death Will Never Conquer 113 REPRESENT :P

I love how people say it looks "Photoshopped" as an argument to it being a fake. Heads up guys, EVERYTHING IS PHOTOSHOPPED. That's what 99% of the industry uses to compose images. Did you know the official cover for Violet Hill was Photoshopped? Did you know the actual album art was Photoshopped? Honestly. Reasons would be nice. :dozey: Needless to say, I don't think it's legit, and if it is, I don't like it. Mainly because the composition is poor, and tonality is poorly balanced across the canvas.

So... is it 16 or 18 songs? And yeah, quite the impossible task! ;) By the time you get your input in this thread, it'll just be a list of pretty much every Coldplay song. :laugh3:

It's definitely some sort of hammered dulcimer. I love it... its great to see the band branching out and trying new things :)

Yeah. It was up on dailymotion for a long time. Then someone had the bright idea of posting the link on the Main Forums, and EMI zapped it in like 10 minutes. :rolleyes:

Honestly, search for exactly what common sense would tell you and it'll show up. Usually I'd be against it, but I caved and looked for it myself. It's such a BRILLIANT SONG (I love it loads more than any of the new material!!) that I just feel bad if I don't spread the word :laugh3: Man i cannot wait for this album! :-)

It's gone now, unless you find someone who saved it and will send it to you. Personally, I don't want to bother; it'll be unlocked soon anyway, and plus, there's so much new Coldplay coming out right now I am already overwhelmed! :shocked2:

I agree about the shipping wait-time, but on the day of, there's bound to be countless sources of high quality album rips (legitimate or not :laugh3:). Then when the actual disc comes, I can delete the other rips, make my own, FLACs or whatever, and joy ensues. I don't know about paying more for tax/ship - at my local music stores, new release CDs are never cheaper than $13.99, plus tax. So it comes out to a little less!

Just put in my pre-order. With shipping it came out to be $13. That's $13 for a full-quality, hard-copy disc containing several hundred, if not thousands, of hours of hard work put in by some of the most talented musicians in the world - for a physical piece of long-awaited Coldplay that can be converted and transferred to whatever I want, however I want. For $13. Quite the bargain, if you ask me.

Not sure if you guys saw this already (I really don't want to look through 13 million pages of replies) but I found this quite interesting. It's not fake, believe me - it was on the coldplay.com servers. Apparently, free Violet Hill downloads was going to be a subscription thing! Cool.

Yes! This is awesome! I cannot wait. Coldplay is really taking a new direction, and it shows in so many ways. Not only will their music be new and refreshing, but the artistic styles, the attitude (as heard in interviews, etc.) and even the band's philosophy. Free download? "Free" 7-inch vinyl? Free concerts?!! Coldplay loves their fans! :D

Indeed - it really is "less is more" in that whatever effects you decide to use, they shouldn't clearly stand out until you toggle them on and off. i.e., subtlety is crucial, and composition is essential. I agree with xcitindesigns when he was talking about the emboss and glow - sure a professional designer can use those to some degree, but if they stand out so greatly that they can be pointed out in half a second, then cheesiness sets in and professionalism wanes. It's exactly like editing video. Star-wipes, cross-dissolves, glow, bouncy text, etc. All neat effects, all pretty much never used in real production.

They use DesignerShop . It's so secret and professional that no one is allowed to know about it ;) Needless to say, DesignerShop does not come with Emboss or Glow effects. :laugh3: (ok. enough of that hehe - back on topic, I can't wait to see these new covers. the painted style will be a fantastic change from their minimal artworks used during the X&Y days.

Seeing as how the NME vinyl looks quite different, I think it's safe to say that this is not the artistic direction the designer(s) will be using for the actual album art and subsequent singles. :( It's a shame really, this one was really starting to grow on me! :D

Someone should get this! A USB Vinyl Player! Connects directly to a computer and you can get a digital record of the output. NICE :cool:

I wonder if the actual CD single will have different artwork (this is the NME LP vinyl sleeve). If it's not the same, it'll probably be similar
