  1. I might have to burn the radio rip to a CD and print this out for the CD case until the real thing comes out. :D It looks good, sure it doesn't fit with those old website mockups, but it still looks good IMO!
  2. There are several steps from concept to cover. Ideas, notes, rough sketches, mockups, rough drafts, preliminary comps, final comps, print-ready - and everything in between. At any step, anyone involved is required to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement), that threatens massive legal action if anything is disclosed to the general public about the project being worked on. This is why leaks of any type are difficult and risky to accomplish. Data and personal information is everywhere these days, which makes it easier for those in charge to find out where something came from. So if I as much as said what profession, field, or even of what city or state the person was, this narrows down the field immensely! I don't want anyone to get in trouble over this. It's just another unverified leak, after all :)
  3. I assumed this section was for posting unverified media relating to LP4, such as to keep the main Multimedia free of "fake" threads about leaks. Unfortunately, since nothing has really leaked at this point, all the threads here are just jokes. As it stands, the cover art I posted is unverified. I don't want to clog up the main multimedia thread with unverified media, either. So take it as a joke if you wish - I sure as hell cannot confirm whether it's real, fake, conceptual, whatever - but it's all what you make of it. Personally, real or fake, I find the artwork aesthetically pleasing.
  4. It was sent to me, but like I said in the first post, I'm not at liberty to name any sources
  5. That was my first thought too, but then I tried to relate the cover arts of their previous albums to the supposed themes of those albums, and found it quite difficult. However, on a more non-reassuring note, the album art usually corresponds with the website (like the old Coldplay.com and X&Y, with the blocks and such). If those slenderfungus.com mockups were real, then maybe the album art will be in similar style with the colorful paint blotches and whatnot. But as it stands now, everything is unconfirmed (and this includes that "leaked" website) except for notable dates (first radio play, album release, etc). No real media (as we know it, at least) has been deemed official
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't the final artwork for the new single... But regardless, I hope it's close to whatever they landed on... they always go for the "themed" series of cover arts for their releases. If they took on this style then all the upcoming releases would make a very attractive addition to my collection ;)

  8. You know what this petition needs? A Goal. It will be the best way to motivate people so that we're not aimlessly signing this thing, not knowing how much we should have, or how far we've gone. Setting a goal is the only way. Suggestions? I say we start with 1,000. As mentioned, there are hundreds of thousands, millions even, of Coldplay fans out there - we should get this petition publicized; after reaching our goal of 1,000 we must raise it yet again. 1,000 to start with. How about it? :D
  9. That would be funny. No one would be able to comapre the kids. ;)
  10. >> Alvin, I think you're thinking too much into it. I highly agree. :D Don't mind me... I can be a little nuts at times. If the band truly were upset about this, we would hear something about it. Instead, we're getting indications of what the fourth album might sound like! I'm already really excited for it! And apparently Coldplay is coming back around to tour a second time! How awesome!
  11. I know it was rehearsed, hence the "Perhaps the pyrotechnics were simply a way to get everyone's attention back to the stage where the band was jamming" comment. It was a joke [sort of]. >> As for the bandmates being upset, I doubt it. You never know! The recording of X&Y almost split up the band, remember? Now obviously, tensions during songwriting and recording are certainly way more intense than those that may arise from a performance, but if relations betwixt bandmates are already negative, this could've fueled the fire even more. Of course, who am I to say how the bandmates feel about Chris and vice versa, but all I'm saying is that it's possible someone may have been a little offended if relations were already poor. Coldplay has become so successful (and huge!), so I wouldn't think [hope] anyone within the band is having problems. If you look at my post again, you'll see that it is I who was a little ticked, maybe because I've been in a few bands (one where I was the frontman) and have experienced what it's like on both ends - the attention you receive as frontman, and the neglect you experience as a musician. This is only amplified a hundredfold when you get as big as Coldplay. It's a shame, really. >> It was nothing new to producers. I know. But a shot of Chris singing his heart out, arms outstretched, eyes closed, with a beautiful waterfall of sparks streaming down behind him and the rest of the band - now THAT's what I call a money shot! It's what prompts the directors to yell "CUT TO CAMERA 17! CAM 17! NOW!" in the control room. ;)
  12. Agh... Chris Martin's vocals were too low, SoS was cut short, the coverage of the band was weak, bitch-moan, plus all the other stuff you guys mentioned. Sucks I waited 2 hours for that. It's funny how Chris left the stage. Almost seemed as if the pyrotechnics scared him off. Haha... jk. Moreover, I found it offensive to the band that Chris didn't return to the stage as SoS closed. It's like he just left his bandmates and ran away to finish his soaring vocals, all eyes on him (and those bastards behind him) - speaking of which, bad idea for Chris to stand in that same damn spot the entire time offstage, hah - and made the band complete the song on their own. I know Chris likes to run around and get the audience involved, but I think it's only appropriate either in concert, or if he eventually comes back to his bandmates. I'd be pissed if my band's frontman just left and finished the song elsewhere. Its bad enough knowing everyone isn't looking at you but at the frontman - It's even worse SEEING everyone looking away. Perhaps the pyrotechnics were simply a way to get everyone's attention back to the stage where the band was jamming away... heh. I bet the producers were upset they weren't able to achieve a shot with both Chris Martin AND the expensive pyrotechnics in the same frame... BTW I saw Coldplay at the Shoreline a week ago! It was great!
  13. 4 tix at the Shoreline. Lawn seating; though I've heard it's not actually too bad back there (haven't been there myself).
  14. Eagle, Jonny uses a Fender Twin Reverb guitar amp; it's not a pedal. Prof. Peedston is correct, it's a warm pad/synth with slow attack, combined with both a slow release, reverb, and most likely some form of stereo delay (for added spaciousness and longer decay). I can recreate it almost perfectly on my keyboard. That, and Jonny does enjoy fat reverb on his guitar. A combination of both.
  15. My bad, mods/admins can merge this with the other thread if they please :embarrased:
  16. As suspected, I was not the only one who noticed a resemblance between Clocks and Speed of Sound; after all, this single *is* supposed to represent the path, or bridge, leading from AROBTTH and heading towards X&Y. Failing to discover a proper mixdown of the two, I took matters into my own hands. Clocks and Speed of Sound are in the keys of D# and A, respectively, with the musical average a perfect C. In this mix, both tracks were transposed to C, and the tempo for both is synchronized somewhere close to the original tempo of Clocks. Clocks plays in the left channel and Speed of Sound in the right, so be sure both of your speakers are connected (wear headphones for an even trippier experience). Unfortunately, this method is rather time-consuming, as the tracks drift out of sync requiring constant readjustment. The sample here is only 45 seconds; I may do more if you guys find it interesting, or if I have more spare time. I call it "How Lights Go Out," for obvious reason. Enjoy! ;) * File is at Rapidshare.de, you know the drill. * MP3 is in a Zip. Use "coldplaying" sans the quotes as the password. LINK http://tinyurl.com/bfn4b -Alvin
