Astronaut is a very-late-in-production track they were working on Mylo Xyloto sessions with the late Johann Johhannsson (I think it was a pre-existing arrangement or something of him), that went dormant until AHFOD(? I don't have proof for that but I think some people reading do) and then was handled to Kygo/Max Martin/Bill Rahko on MOTS and was eventually handled to Jin from BTS. I wouldn't be fully surprised if they'd release a version as a metaphorical answer to Jin and his situation, but atleast so far I'm not aware of such thing.

I honestly think that at this point in their career and considering how the market works, the only chance for their album to make a significant impact is to release a visual album with proper promotion for singles. Exhaustive touring and minimal-to-zero promotion ain't gonna cut it, it's just not how the industry works anymore. I'm not in a rush at all for a new album, I want it to be right and with their current tour schedule, if it gets released now, it's gonna be a massive flop since they don't have the means to support it.

The original WAV files are re-encoded 192kbps watermarked mp3 files and the mp3 files that were promoted around (same ones with the ones on the Dowloads section of this forum) are re-encodes of the above re-encodes with an extra layer of watermark over them so, not only they are of very poor quality, but you get 2 layers of watermarks on them. They were so desperate to stop people from leaking them and control the situation that they forgot that these instrumentals are going to serious publications and there needs to be a certain amount of quality to them which backfired. Also I know for a fact that they went on a wild goose hunting trying to find how these things were circulating around and since then they are monitoring closely this site. A strong indication is that they monitor the content that I personally upload on this site, because even after passwording and encrypting and obfuscating stuff, those links are being taken down with very specific notices that I'm SURE they are not automated. This is a well known situation between people collecting stuff so we are all doing the best we can to avoid them being able to do anything. From now on I will be posting my content on either file hosting services that simply ignore DMCA takedowns and/or ftp servers that I can encrypt and obfuscate the leads to it's source, or even self host stuff that they simply cannot take down. If any of Universal's reps read this, I'm sorry Universal, I do understand how intellectual property works since I have worked for one of your networks, but our very small niche fanbase is light years away from posing somekind of threat to your intellectual property and if anything we are working very complimentary to the value of it. Continuing trying to take us down with DMCA takedowns and C&D letters will get you nowhere, it didn't in the past, it won't in the present and it won't be in the foreseeable future.

2014-2015 I think is the first image of Chris I get in my head when I think of him. I think it was the Era he perfectly balanced his looks. Also it was the Era which they were making songs around his vocal abilities/style and limits, not the tracks they have in their minds and try to adapt sonically to them which I think is more complimenting to him. Like they took what Chris does best, he has a warm, charming almost soothing talking voice with sweet falsettos every now and then, pronounced vowels, distinctive pronunciation etc and made them all into tools and said "OK, what will we build around that?" which for me is the moment an artist is able to create flawless art that compliment them in all aspects, not just production wise or vocal abilities wise which alot of the times is where an artist's track balance tips into.

I have it, it's just that I repackaged it in TAK ( https://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=TAK ) with a cue sheet so I can shrink down losslessly the file beyond what FLAC as a format is capable of yet be compatible with everything that handles archival audio formats so they could be transcoded to anything somebody would desire. Also TAK is playable in both Android and iOS with foobar2000 app so that's a bonus.

Following the tradition of previous posts here's my version of ASFOS. All vocals and band are live. Yep everything. Included are versions using the pausing and restarting part as well as the same versions without the pausing and restarting part. Bonus, instrumental versions of each version plus a backing track containing only Will's backing vocals. I've been wanting to do this version for sooo long, I love Will's drums and the weird mixing they do with the levels. Yes. Melodyne (the program that does pitch correction/manipulation) uses resampling with a frequency interpolator algo called "SINC intepolation" which produces certain kinds of artifacts in the frequency domain. When it's a prerecorded part you can see those artifacts in the spectogram and when it's not, it goes back to a plain normal spectogram.

Kind of random but looking at the spectogram of the show, I just found out you can actually tell with 100% accuracy what is live and what's not. WOOPS. Whoever mastered the audio really didn't expect somebody to have the knowhow so he/she would hide the traces. Now that's rather jarring, it completely ruins the magic. Oof, that's rough especially considering that it's about double the amount of what I was expecting to be live.

If you are using winrar it won't work since their software has a broken implementation of 7z (and a bunch of other formats) and this company has become pure garbage the last decade or so, people should just stop using it. I have been experimenting on my free time aswell but I forgot to post the results. Try to be a liiiiiitle bit more careful with what you hear. (I know it's hard when we technically don't have a properly mixed and mastered version of a live performance, the live broadcasts -video or audio- are just rough soundboard mixes with slapped on audience feed, this is not what you'd hear on a properly mastered version of the show) Anyway here's my notes: On the first chorus intro, they use the bridge harp synth minus the reversed drums effect and they mute 3 of the 4 synth layers from the original, not all! The Nexus synth is still on! What Will always does for his live outros (because I'm 100% sure he is the one for the creative input of these live versions) to create a cold ending is take the last bar of the 3rd repetition and take it a bar back and cut eveything before the last kick. So in this case from 1,2,3,4 - 1,2,3,4 -1,2,3,4 and a fadeout, what he does is 1,2,3,4 - 1,2,3,4 -1,2,4 and cuts before the kick while the band will play 1,2,3,4 - 1,2,3,4 -1,2,3!
