Or more specifically what you eat during that time. ---------------------------- Very few dates can be as special as the Advent season and Christmas time for the German people. This is the right time for sharing with the family and relatives special moments and of course a good sample of delicious meals and comfits. December in Germany has the aroma of cakes and fresh baked cookies. Confectionery for this time include the traditional Lebkuchen (oder Pfefferkuchen), ein Gebäck das in zahlreichen Variationen, made with Honig, Frucht und exotish orientalischen Gewürzen als Zimt, Nelken, Anis, weniger Kardamom, Koriander, Ingwer und Muskatnuss. It is found in many presentations, being the most famous the Honigkuchenpferd. It is only avaliable during this time of the year. Another delight, enjoyed only during Christmas and the Advent time is the Spekulatius, ein Keks made in honor to Saint Nicholas and made with Zimt.
