  1. I can't find the January issue in my local shops... Only the December issue. Those who have already purchased it, know the best place to go? Thanks :)
  2. Already pre-ordered the album on CD and Vinyl from the Coldplay website... Guessing I'm going to have to buy another copy of the album from Amazon to get access to the pre-sale!! :)
  3. The Fir Trees Parlophone and Warner Music Group do go to great lengths to protect the albums! I can confirm how they do this in a recent article I did for the Coldplay Collectors Community below... Thought it was applicable and something you might enjoy reading, considering the 'LEAK HUNT' is on ;) Also, I have the MX Ablum Promo which was sent to radio stations etc... and is similar to this. Today I want to share with you one of the rarest and highly sought after Coldplay promo's which I have in my collection. Title: Coldplay, X & Y (Promo) Serial # / UPC: “The Fir Trees, Album” CD-R Acetate This promo was manufactured and released only to the media in the UK, 2005. It was titled “The Fir Trees, Album” to disguise what the CD actually contained (X & Y Album). Parlophone went to great lengths to make sure this advanced copy of the album would not be uploaded to the internet and leaked before its release date. Each CD had to be signed for by the person of the media who was receiving it. It also contains the name of the person it was created for. Because of the steps taken for security, not many of the “Fir Trees” promos are available. Many of the media who received a copy often destroyed it after use so that it was not passed on, otherwise this could potentially damage their reputation. Therefore I have had to 'black out' the person of the media whom mine was given too for these very reasons. I have also had to watermark my photos, to avoid forgers producing copies. It is a very rare advanced promo CD. This copy has a very low production number (#0003). Here are some links to Music Review Web Sites discussing the “X & Y, Fir Trees promo” which might interest you about the CD and its history. My personal favourite extract is from the NME article and the steps which had to be taken in order for them to get the CD. This would have been the same steps taken for the person who received mine; To get this CD to NME, the label employed a special envoy who flew with a sealed parcel to Belfast where it was slowly slipped over the table in a city centre hotel. The name Coldplay appeared nowhere – it was marked simply ‘The Fir Trees album’ and even the track titles were adjusted. NME had to sign to a letter promising not to let anyone look at the record pre-release, never mind hear it, on pain of a slow, medieval death. 4. I think more thought and awareness needs to be given to the ticket process. At the moment it is quite out-dated and with touts/scalpers being able to pick up tickets, this needs to be addressed, i.e. ID for each ticket. Also how will do they cancel tickets which sell for an extortionate amount without any reference to the barcodes etc... Also it would be nice to acknowledge fans more through a pre-sale or another form on interactive method. Coldplay, being Coldplay, with their amazing build up to releases and fan interaction, should re-consider the ticket selling method. I'm sure they could come up with some great stuff! I had a thought... Imagine they hid tickets in album releases all over the world, this would entitle the lucky winners to a one off concert, with lots of old classics to mark the end of the 'chapter'. How fun would that be?! Anyway, what will be will be, it's all down to Coldplay Karma and luck. I'm so happy for those who got tickets :)
  5. Thanks Sparky! :) I'll keep trying. You did so well to get tickets! Literally must have been down to those who clicked first and the milliseconds in between all those clicks must have made the difference. I can't believe how much the tickets are now going for on places like Viagogo, it's ridiculous. How do they even get tickets? :(
  6. Didn't get tickets either... :( So disappointed. If anyone has a spare ticket, please let me know I would be so so so grateful!! I'll pay a good price.
  7. Thank you. Think we're all desperate for that link to appear!!
  8. Will the link appear on the Coldplay website or the BBC page?
  9. Great, thanks for letting me know :) Did they check your ID's to make sure they matched the name on the tickets or just for age? I was just wondering because I don't think I'll be able to get to the ticket sale on time, so I was hoping a relative could get a ticket for me, but that won't work if they check the photo ID matches the ticket :(
  10. Fingers crossed everyone gets tickets :) Quick question... I know some people had issues with tickets for the Royal Albert Hall concert last year, with the concern of the lead booker's name on the ticket. Where the lead booker was either not attending or arriving at the same time as them, however you 'were' required to show ID of the lead booker who brought the tickets and be with them upon arrival? I was wondering whether this was actually carried out and monitored thoroughly? Thanks :)
  11. Love the end of Amazing Day with Will's drums :laugh3:
  12. I think they did too! Must have tweaked a few things...
  13. Can't get over how different and miles better amazing day was!! :o
  14. That was absolutely spectacular!!! COLDPLAY ARE OFFICIALLY BACK!! They look so fresh and happy :laugh3: They gave 1000% into that performance, so focused. How good did Amazing Day sound! It was totally different and I've now seen it in a different light and love it! :loveshower:
  15. It sounds like 'To far from' :)
  16. I think this is a sign that the last era is upon us... (well at least stepping back for a while and not consistently releasing albums like over the past 17 years anyway). The amount of time and resource that has been put into this new 'Timeline' must haven be phenomenal. It's as if things are being wrapped up at Coldplay HQ before the release of 'A Head Full Of Dreams'. This makes sense from organisations perspective by getting all archive; published, structured and released. Whilst also using all staff resource before people slowly depart after the Album, tour, etc... Obviously this won't be the end at Chris said :) But it will be the end of a consistently focused Coldplay concentrating on delivering albums and totally concentrating on their musical career and path. But who know's, this could just be the start of something ;)
  17. Thanks! Half of the Xylobands are from the various Coldplay concerts I have been too. The other half (rarer ones) I purchased from the actual Xyloband company who put them up for auction when they we're clearing out their offices and stumbled upon them. The rare older ones are genuine 'Mk1 Coldplay Xylobands' and used on the very first tour date of the Mylo Xylo tour! They were never actually used, but surplus to the tour dates requirements. So I guess they are quite hard to come by and many people won't have seen them before. I'm expecting big things for the LP7 tour and Xyloband team!! :laugh3: Do you have any?
  18. Coldplay Collection Here is my Coldplay Collection! :parachutes: This is the first time I have ever posted some pictures of it all. I have spent the last year collecting properly. I love it. 19. Very nice! Quite a collection. What era is the mug second to left in?
  20. No worries. I need to post my Coldplay Collection soon too!
  21. You can upload photos! I would love to see your mug collection. You have to create a Photobucket account for example and upload your photos to their site. On this post in 'Quick Reply' click the 'Insert Image' feature and paste the link into the 'URL' box. You can get the link for your picture on Photobucket once you view your image, where 'Share Links' is on the right hand side. The link you would require is the 'IMG' one, so copy and paste this. I hope this helps and we can see your collection!! :)
  22. Hello, Personally I would venture into CD's first. Start collecting each album, single, promo, etc... Just because they are generally more common to collect and form the basis of any Coldplay Collection. Then you can work through the various Coldplay era's from past to present. Vinyl's are great to collect too, but it's just preference on which you start first! I am Coldplay Collector, everyone has their own unique ways in collecting, but I collect a mixture of CD's (more so) and vinyl's too. It just depends how I feel at the time, if you like a vinyl, CD or other memorabilia just buy it, add it to your collection and it will soon start to grow. That way it keeps it fun and interesting when you have no real structure!
  23. Hello :) I don't usually post much on the forum, but thought it would be a good idea to share some photos of when I met the band last week for those of you who are intrested, because I enjoy reading/viewing others (so I should contribute back)! It coincides with 'ARoBttH14' story who I met whilst waiting for the band, where we thoroughly got to know each other from the 4+ hours of waiting. Really nice to meet someone who is as passionate as Coldplay as I am :) Everything happened so quick, still doesn't feel like it happened. The guys are exactly how they appear in interviews and they have so much time for each and every fan and they are they are so appreciative too! Anyway, here's a few photos of the day... Finally got my Parachutes vinyl signed! ;)
  24. I recently purchased a signed Coldplay photo off eBay. I spent quite alot of time verifying the photo and the autographs, before deciding to purchase it, by contacting the seller and studying the autographs of Coldplay. It is becoming increasingly difficult however to establish whether the autographs are genuine or not as they are continually changing slightly over the years. You will never really know, unless you obtain it yourself in person, however if you do decide to purchase online, try and receive at least one of the following; photo evidence, certificate or a credited background story. Any queries or you would like a second opinion, just drop me a message and I will be happy to help. Good luck!
