July 13, 200421 yr China is indeed a rising world power to reckon with. It's rise is going to change the world economics, business, history and politics like the rise of European empires did 500 years ago... India should be the other country, albeit about a decade behind China in terms of growth. Yep...this century is going to see new powers rise and take their place in world order
July 17, 200421 yr YUp, our history teacher told us this a few months ago. We've known it was going to happen. The Chinese have barely started to tap their natural resources and the USA's are almost depleted. It's pretty much inevitable so start being nice to the Chinese! ;) Personally I'm glad the US is no longer the super power because at the rate technology is increasing, the US government would likely try to stop it. China on the other hand, their government is smart and they understand technology... not as much as Japan of course :P
July 17, 200421 yr ermm....as of right now, the U.S. is still the only world superpower; and China is still at best a regional power... we're talking of China's rise in the coming 20+ years...a lot of time in strategic terms in which many things can go wrong or differently. Biggest worry for everyone right now? --the running out of oil! China's entire huge manufacturing industry depends on oil...cheap oil. And there's no more cheap oil left...soon we will be paying $50/barrel or more. Think about it!
June 28, 200520 yr Author I highly disagree' date=' I think it will be Europe for sure. :/[/quote'] You think the same after the constitution failure :P Oh wait, long time you don't come to post.
June 28, 200520 yr Wow' date=' an old thread of mine. :D[/quote'] I really like this thread. I agree with your ideas, Charles!
June 28, 200520 yr china becoming powerful can be a very dangerous thing, unless the goverment gets alot better on human rights.
