Why not just a whole ceremony without interruptions and empty spaces of time?

i don`tknow. that`s how it was last year but i guess it`s better like that cuz some people couldn`t make it at 12pm GMT and some couldn`t at 6PM GMT which makes it more flexible or someffin.
