omg! what a clip!......

this show RULES! :wideeyed:

Lana:

maybe you think I didn't watch Crash and that's why I said that BM deserved to win the award but no, I saw both films, and honestly, I didn't like Crash, I find it pretentious although it had something real - the racism it showed and also, the fact there's no baddy, nor the opposite thing on the film. This was real, but by the other things...

oh, well. I almost forgot. Racism: yeah, I think it was a different topic; it showed it in all of its sides, but, being honest, I didn't feel represented in the film at all because I don't live in a place with that atmosphere of racism - at least not here where I currently live. I even talked about the bad impression I had of the film with my companion and he thought just the same.

Maybe the racism that showed suits with the U.S reality, I don't know, but it has nothing to do with MY REALITY and that's the main reason I didn't like the film. I wasn't able to put on the character's shoes, I didn't understand why they acted that way. So racist. So unreal for me.

Wow! Is Spain that tolerant, and non-racist? You're lucky to live in a place where ppl can't relate to Crash.:) Unfortunately, it is very much the U.S. reality, and to only a slightlly lesser degree, Canada as well. We're not thought of as a racist country, but it's there. Europe seems so much more progressive than N. America. Anyway, sorry to interrupt...but that's what I'm thinking.

I'm tired....

OMG I DO NOT want to go to school Tuesday!

Why won't she give up! Just give the fuck up, he does not want you, he has a girlfriend! Girlfriends are supposed to turn you OFF. OFF!

OFF, damn it!

But no one cares what I think. NOOO, I don't have expierence. I don't know how they feel! Well, I'm guessing horny??? *Ding ding ding!* :cheesy:

They disgust me sometimes.

Well, luckly for you Iris, thats the case, that you couldn't relate to it and you don't have such intolerance there.. but to be honest me liking the film, or thinking it's very important doesn't come from the fact that i did actually relate to it, nor that here in Jordan, we have that sort of racism and to that extent like in the US! but the diffirence between me and you, is that i could understand these charecters and why they did the things they did.. and not just me, my friend who watched it with me, ..said it's one of her top fav movies ever, it's a really really good movie, apart from the plot and story, also the way it was done and written. oh well i just wanted to share my point on this, :)

Btw i didn't mention that i had actually seen BM.. and i'm not sure what to say about it, coz it was pretty odd for me to watch such a movie, and also before i watched it i TOTALY expected something different, meaning i had a different idea of how the movie would turn out to be coz of all the buzz that i had seen over it. And the reason, i wasn't very fond of it and not thinking that it desereved an Oscar, isn't because i have anything against gay people or anything like that, it's just that i thought of it as a bit ewwish, lol, .. i dont know i just did!

^Lane! ur sig... perfect :stunned: lookie Jonsi :nice:

^ aww thanks so much Will  :nice:

i've had this idea for a while now, combining all my fav singers in one pic! i'm glad i didn't ruin it eventualy! :D

Hmph.

I shouldn't have yelled at her.

I mean, raised my voice.

Don't worry for "interrupting" the conversation - this is precisely a thread for saying what you're thinking right now, innit?

Well, I think we haven't had the real chance to prove whether we're racist or not... I mean, although there're loads of foreign people here in Barcelona, there aren't enough - the different races are still quite separated, so we haven't had a proper contact with ppl of other races.

Probably Europe is more progressive than N.A. - I don't know - I suppose it depends on the place and the mentality of the ppl who're living over there - and theoretically, the european mentality is more open-minded. Theoretically.

lookie Jonas   *goes to look at pics* my heart is melting!

well, I could answer you a little bit saying what I said to Tracie. I haven't experienced that racism, probably because there aren't too many foreign people in my country, and I haven't had a proper contact with the ones who live here . Anyway, I don't think we'd have so many racist problems, in case we'd have had that contact.

You could? that's good to know. I wasn't able to understand why that policeman tried to abuse of that woman, who was having fun with her husband while he was driving. Why he stopped them. Why the hell he spoiled that good moment for them. Why he made them feel that bad, specially the woman - and afterwards his husband. Such a jerk. And now, tell me, how am I supposed to put under his shoes?! It was an unbelievable attitude, his one. Only who is as dumb as a post would act that way.

ewwish?! :laugh4:

Sorry, but I can't agree with you at all. For me it's as if someone is asking me:

why don't you like that?

and I respond: because I don't like that.

^it's just an answer that doesn't say anything. - no offence -

What'd have been very surprising is that BM would have won the awards, specially because it's a gay film but not only 'cos of this, but because of its plot, the way that characters played in the film. The music. The atmosphere. The real life it showed. The love between the main characters.

Hi Iris! :) yep I'm thinking this

hiya Charles!! :nice:

really? that's good to hear!!
