I highly suspect that people not knowing of them is not the case. It is probably more along the lines of making a conscious decision not to speak of the band. Anyone(esp America) who has a university in their city/town(which is everywhere) has without a doubt heard of them.

Come on...seriously, you are telling me that everyone who lives in a city with a college/university knows about them? Guess what? I don't know anyone who knows of them and I go to a university. :P

I suppose "conscious decision" was the wrong choice of words. I was simply stating that perhaps its not that people haven't heard of them, but rather that they choose not to mention them.

 

I have misguided the topic, haven't I? With all that said, I am a huge fan of their Goldfly and Parachut albums. I did however find their latest release(from 2003) to be complete crap.

What about Lost and Gone Forever? Goldfly is an excellent album...I am not crazy about Parachute.

 

I really like Keep It Together, but I can see where you are coming from. They did lose a little bit of their signature style and originality on it, but it's still good.

their new single is good - Manifest Destiny/Sorority Tears .. i have high hopes for their new album coming out next year :)

 

and saintcity, parachute is the only album i don't really have a REAL copy of. :P so i totally agree with you.

i was looking for coldplay - parachute in some p2p prog..

downloaded it(the file was named as Coldplay-Parachute), n it turned out to be Guster - Parachute (=.=;;

when i first heard it I was like... "ugh what happened to chris martin's voice?" :P

that was the first guster song i heard, n it's good~ i got addicted to it =D love the guitars~

I saw them open for John Mayer back in the day. I've tried to see them when they tour the campus circuit but they're never really near me.

 

Lost and Gone forever is definitly their best album. :P But then again, that was the first album I heard from them.

lost and gone forever & goldfly are my favorites.. if they could merge like half of the songs from each album i would have to make it my favorite album ever. EVERRRR.

Yea, I agree. I liked Keep It Together, but their sound changed a bit too much for my taste but those songs are amazing live.

 

Right now I'm more into Goldfly more than anything. It all depends what my mood is. haha Much like most of the music I listen to...
