Arts Worldwide - A question regarding that

Featured Replies

is it only in my country or does it also happen is other places? I have wondered that myself many times.

Arts (Theatre, painting, photography and music) is here seen as second-rated thing, or whatever you called it. You're an artist only If you wewren't bright enough to go into 'formal' schooling, or If you were inspired enough or If you were a vague, a person that does not work at all. That's the popular belief. Without saying that been an 'artist' here is a synonim of being Communist (and in a country that was as divided as mine because of politics, that matters) and there is no support at all for activities such as playing music or doing plays.

My situation, besides that, is a rather strange one because I live on a very small town, I study in another region and they are both very close to big cities but we haven't got anything (no fields, no theatres, no music schools, no book shops, no cd stores, no music stores. just cows and farms and lots ciggarretes and weed and all type of drugs and illegal things) and here everyone is like against progress and playing music and phtograph and so. (yes, I'm like the black sheep of the family and the town)

does that happen there? - where you live-

No.

I would run away.. :stunned: I can't live without music or art in my life... thats like oxygen to me!
