getting boyfriends or gurlfriends to talk to u

Well, my place is a one bedroom. It's got a separate living room, kitchen and bathroom and stuff, and I pay $685 which includes everything, except cable and phone.

It seems like a really good deal so I wanted to renew the lease, but he doesn't like my area that much b/c he says it's too loud and busy. I live near a busy street in Montreal.

Yah, I live right in downtown, which in a small city like Kitchener is not bad in terms of bring busy. I mean we have a hospital and fire station up the street, but there arent too many people around at night. And the view is great.

How big is your one bedroom? In terms of sq feet, that seems really cheap to me.

Um, oh gosh, square feet I have no clue. But to get an idea, it fits a double bed, two bedside tables, has a closet, a couch-chair type thing and my dresser...AND there's still plenty of room to move around.

It is really cheap, but compared to my other friends, apparently I'm paying a fortune.

Really... hmm... I guess Montreal has lower rent prices. I heard that Ottawa is very expensive, and Toronto (of course) is also very expensive.

My situation was that I really needed to get away from the student ghetto that is around the two universities in Waterloo, so I moved a decent distance away from school, and I don't regret paying so much for a nice place without any student issues or noise.

Ahhh, I see. I live pretty close to 2 universities in Montreal (UQAM and McGill) so there are tons of student stuff going on around me.

And Montreal does have cheaper rent prices. My old apartment, which was a 2-bedroom was only $925.

My sister's boyfriend in Toronto pays $850 for a studio or bachelor apartment. :stunned:

Yes exactly, I am aspiring to move to Toronto once I am done school.

My previous place was $370 a month, but that was sharing the house with 4 other people upstairs and 5 others downstairs. To give you an idea of what studen ghetto I am talking about! It was a mess. And the landlord of course raised the rent the year that we moved out, so now it's like over $400 for a dumpy place. And in my apartment, which I am sharing with the boyfriend, I am paying a little under $500, and the difference is huge.

Yeah, that's what I'm planning as well. By that time, rent will be higher, i'm sure. But I might stay in Montreal if I finally learn french well enough to get a journalism job. :D

I have only been to Montreal on school trips, so I didnt get a good enough idea of what its like there. Do you like it?

They have an excellent music scene right about now.

I love it. :) Toronto is such a massive city, Montreal is different. Things feel more compressed so it's less intimidating.

My friend who moved to Montreal with me hates it though. She thinks the Quebecois are snobby to her, but she lives in an area where it's not really "english-friendly" so to speak.

if I may interrupt here... now that I know Laura is cheating on me!! lol

I lived with my boyfriend (well ex-bf) for about a year... we had dated for about 3yrs before we decided to do that... needless to say, it didnt work out. Its tough... and I wouldnt reccomend it...however, I definitely see myself living with 'a boyfriend' again if I plan on it 'being a serious long term' relationship... meaning if i could see myself marrying the guy... its just something that I would serioulsy consider because it could make or break your relationship... it requires a lot of patience and compramise... you learn things about each other that you never knew... and maybe, certain things will drive you up the wall.... its not what ended our relationship... but it definately helped!! lol We still remain friends til this day... best friends even... because thats what we realized... but, at least I learned a lesson... ;)

just a thought.

I dont have a boyfriend....

Moving in together is definitely a tester of whether your relationship with thrive over time.

I agree. But my boyfriend has never lived with any of his old girlfriends and he dated one of them for 2 and a half years. I don't know. I'm just wondering if he really wants to live with me b/c he sees marriage ( :stunned: ) in our future, or b/c he needs a cheaper rent to pay.

awwww!! I hope its not the latter.... but I'm flattered you're leaving him for me....

I hope it's not the latter either, even though I put a laughing smiley..but it's nervously laughing.

And yes. He's history baby.

woohoo.. you wanna move in with me.... I 've got even cheaper rent!!! All you have to pay is $375 USD!! :wink3: Can't beat that!!

oooooh girl, that's the shit.

I'm there.

and thats half the rent... everything included... even cable!!! :wink3:

but there's only 1 bedroom.. we'd have to share a bed......
