Being Friends with the opposite sex

Featured Replies

I've managed to stay best friends with one of my ex's.. and trust me..there is no hanky panky there!! lol I dont even kiss him hello!! :laugh3: I guess it was a phase, but we're better as friends.. and I think I'm being generous when I call him best friend.. but like the other girls.. I too tend to have better friendships with guys than girls.. I have one truly bestest friend (who is a girl) but she's back in Miami.. anyhoo.. friends with the opposite sex doesnt always lead to 'intimate'... not when there's self control involved.. and there's always the possibility of ruining the friendship...

thats where you decide.. is it worth it??

well..............sometimes you have to control your feelings

if you have your feelings in check, then there's no problem of maintain the friendship....right :smug:

well thats where the question comes into play... you have to ask yourself..

"is this worth possibly sacraficing a great friendship? or could it be the beginning of a wonderful loving relationship" you know, I know quite a few people who married their best friends.. and I think thats a wonderful thing.. but you have to be willing to take that chance. I just get tired of hearing people say that friendships between a man and a woman can be just that.. a friendship. People always assume otherwise.. like the assumption that there is 'hanky panky' a foot.. lol

you have a great point there.......

but if you have a christian best friend, it could never go wrong

you know where I'm going with this Camille :D

I have a couple of guy friends, one of them being the guy I like, and he's older than me but we're really good friends now so it's cool. actually I dunno if I like him......maybe just as a friend

My best friend is a male. I've known him since we were weee tykes.

I feel cooler with male friends.

well, they best type of relationship is when it evolves from the previous step :)

my best friends are females.i cant talk about my feeling with my male friends.you know it is like taht if you tell a feeling to them and they dont understand it then they laugh at you :embarrased:

but if i tell something to my female friends they understand what i mean about.

im a bit of a mix..i seem to get on with everyone! although i went to an all girls school so i hung round with girls alot..[duh]

but being friends with the opposite sex is just as cool as the same sex :D

exactly :wink3:

and i agree with the fact that relationships can be better when youve developed that friendship first..but if it goes wrong you've lost a good friend as well as a partner [unless youre happy staying friends, which is cool]
