Laptop Suggestions

Featured Replies

Im looking for a decent laptop for £400 or under, i'm not bothered about second hand or brand new, could someone give me any suggestions?

i don't know about finding one cheap and all but the macs are really good, the ibooks and powerbooks, but the new ones usually cost :/

i'm always kinda scared of ebay but yet thrilled by it still but still too scared to follow through with anything on it for the most part, lol

lol

i trust 100% on ebay!! =D

about a year ago, i bought a set that contained:

6 coldplay patches

4 coldplay buttons

1 scientist single

for 9 dollars =D

thought the scientist single wasnt really a single, it had the artowkr of the single, but only had the scientist on it :/

it was still worth it

I hate apple, mainly because fashionable tossers buy apple products such as ipods (no offence to any board members)

I won't take offence to that....yet.

I'm currently saving up to buy an Apple laptop..I think i'm gonna get a powerbook b/c my boyfriend has one and it's so sweet. My desktop computer is utter shit. It sucks big time.

my desktop is a dirty cheap celeron but parents paid so cant complain. will hopefully get a nice 2nd hand sony vaio (and try an persuade parents to pay :D)

The Sony Vaio is actually pretty cool. My friend Devon has one and it's one fiiine machine. :)

Vaio is waaayyy too much money.

Try http://www.dell.co.uk . They usually have the lowest prices (at least here in North America)

but you don't live in North America

isn't he in Canada? Canada is in North America.

anyways,

i'm also looking to buy a good laptop. but i'm pretty much going the pc route instead of the mac.

macs are good for some folks. they just won't cut it for me. i need this for work and play, and work files are all formatted in pc, so....

anyways, i'm looking at dell. i just don't know what to buy...so many choices! i can spend 1500 bucks easily if that gets me a good system. but what's a good system? and do i want a heavy 'desktop replacement' or a travel-friendly notebook that may not have everything?

too much to take into account... :/

any suggestions??! egghead, you're the in-house hi-tech expert!

i say buy a mac.

oh, sorry, didn't read the rest of your post. :P whatever you do, don't get a toshiba. i made that mistake once..it sucked a big one.

ah, okay! :) thanks!

a friend did buy a sony Viao....that thing did look beautiful! and it was big too, nice wide screen!! and all for under 1000 :stunned:

My brother was so close to buying a Vaio, but he ended up getting a Mac IBook.

My Toshiba was a piece of junk. It always got screwed up somehow.

My gf has a Toshiba. The C key fell off. Now its really hard to use the letter C.

HAHAH!! THE L and R keys fell off mine!! I couldn't write my name for the last 2 weeks that I had it!
