Earthquakes

Featured Replies

have you ever been present at one? just curious

If yes, how was your experience?

just small tremors randomly in Los Angeles

Um, there was a tiny earthquake in TO when I was in highschool. But it felt like a bus just passing by my house. I didn't know about it until I saw it on the news.

two or three. :idea2:

And how was it Bea?

everyone was pretty different to other..

once i was in Lorca, i was sat on the sofa and it moved.. i remember my lil cousin told me "what are you doing moving the sofa?" was so funny. but my aunt was so scared.. :/ the epicenter was in lorca...

other one i was doing homework and the desk moved too i though was someone moving it.. but i was alone.. then when i watched the news i know that was a earthqacke in mula, a town very far from my city but most of my region felt it because was a big one. 6 on ritchter scale i think.

Yah, a very tiny one that occurred in Oshawa, probably the same one as Laura is talking about. I was out taking a walk, and some crazy lady was screaming that the 'Earth is moving', I didn't know at the time, but she was telling the truth. how weird.

Oh but wasn't that terrible I mean, just a tremble and didn't destroy any building?

the one in mula damage a lot of houses. recently was one near lorca again, but i didn't felt it, it destroyed some houses. :/ my region is one of the most sismologic active areas. cartagena had volcanos long time ago, in fact most of the montains are old volcanoes.

I think we need people from Japan to tell us, how's really the big deal :idea2:

ya about 3 summers ago i was at my countryhouse in northern Vermont, and an earthquake hit from the west side in Vermont.....it was like 6 in the morning and i thought it was a farm truck passing by since there's a farm at the end of my road, but when my bed started shaking like hell i knew that was no truck....

I think we need people from Japan to tell us' date=' how's really the big deal :idea2:[/quote']

so we must ask Rain, her profile says she's from japan if i'm not wrong..

many years back.. there were tiny tremors felt here in NY... I however slept thru the whole thing... :embarrased:

so the answer is no.

lots of them. but i usually sleep through it, or id wake up, wonder what was going on, and go back to sleep. i never felt one.

yeah, I think everyone in the way u're talking about, I was just asking comentaries of the big stuff

Yes I unfortunately did.It was in 1999,17th August. It was at 3:04 am and it really was very bad.7.4 to Richter.Lots of people died here and I was so scared! It lasted for 45 seconds. It was a very bad feeling really. You feel so numb during the earthquake.Because you're helpless, you can't do anything about it.If you have a chance, you can just go outside. That's all.Mother nature is stronger than all the things. And now, when I hear an earthquake in somewhere,I feel so sad.God bless all of us.
