Engineering isn't exactly a breeze. :P ok, so do you know how to set the ISO? also, shoot in PROGRAM MODE (P, I think), and either somewhere there, or under custom settings, change your metering to SPOT, and your AUTOFOCUS to SPOT. And after you go past 5MP the quality really doesn't get any better unless you're making huge (20x30in) prints.
