I don't think THAT many people on here know German. It just seems like it. Obviously the Dutch members do............................

Some English too, but when I was in England nobody was able to speak German. Or they just didn't want to.

English people aren't that great with foreign languages in general..................

True. I've always been very impressed that a lot of Swiss speak several languages. Roger Federer is a great example.

True. Everyone has to learn French and English. At grammar school you often learn Spanish, Italian or Latin as well.

And what about Romantsch? I thought the country was trying to save it?

Yeah. They still talk that language in one Kanton (quarter?). So very few people talk this language...They write that as well it's their official language, but they have to learn German, French and English and we don't have to learn their language.
