does anyone else think its funny that like 99 percent of all practicing christians are republican? can anyone say brainwashing?

Christianity is belief in Christ. Not all people who believe in Christ are Republican.... Christianity would included, Baptist, Catholics, Protestant, Evangilist, etc.

I am a Catholic... and I sure as hell am not a Rep.!!! lol I wouldn't call it brainwashing...

that is so rare where i live though... even to have a catholic liberal... its nuts... i know only one liberal christian, and 90 percent of ppl i know are christian

I dont know if I'd classify myself as liberal.. but, I am a registerd Dem.. not tosay I agree with everything they say.. I don't take politics that seriously.. but I do give a damn. ;)

I meant brainwashing in terms of the republican administration propaganda. Not religion. Many christians practice the true message of their religion which is to love thy neighbor. I'm totally down with all religions, I just don't like it when the crazy zealots of each set attack me. I would make an argument to say that the majority of those that voted for Dubya were brainwashed indeed.

totally agree, but you have to admit... a significant amount of churches tell their congregation how to vote. I know someone that consulted their pastor as to who to vote for. its sickening. the evangelical christians are creating a theocracy in the midst of our democracy. its undeniable

And those are the zealots I'm talking about. If you vote based on whom your preacher tells you to vote for, that is sadly pathetic. Moral issues should not outweigh the gross incompetence of this administration.

Oh no! A hardline Republican in our presence :P

mentally? nothing metal about him. not to mention people make fun of him when he speaks' date=' but you try speaking in front of the world without messing up, I'd bet my life most people couldnt.. not to mention the quote you put up wasnt that stupid.[/quote']

Then shouldn't we have an American president who isnt just an elitist fag elected by his daddy and his brother?

"Whenever people are given a choice in the matter, they prefer lives of freedom to lives of fear"

Hes so smart  He must have figured this out AFTER every bomb hes sent around the world (And not just Iraq).

bush was elected by over half of the american that voted, not by his brother or dad.

for many voting for bush was a moral decision, alot voted because they were agaisnt abortion and gay marriage along with the fact the kerry and the democratic party isnt too good with christians, no brainwashing involved. if one could argue most who voted for bush were "brainwashed" then one could equaly argue those who voted for kerry were aswell. But preachers should NOT tell people how to vote, its a bad and sad thing for them to do that, Im glad to go to a church where the leaders refuse to talk politics and tell people how to vote. It would be wrong for them to do so.

^ You keep telling yourself that too. :/

oh those 60 million or so american that voted for him dont, exist, that must be it. his dad and brother played a major role in him getting elected, but it came down to the majority of voters picking him over kerry.

I think people that voted for Bush have no morals.

the majority of christians who voted were bush were not zealots, many were, and i cant stand those self rightous people, they arent real christians, but many true christians with morals who love their neibors voted for bush, i know many like that who did.

does anyone else think its funny that like 99 percent of all practicing christians are republican? can anyone say brainwashing?

brainwashing? oh brother! it has nothing to do with brainwashing unless their catholic, haha. it has to do with christian morals, being agaisnt abortion, the left being anti-christian. thats why the majority of them are republican.

"its not stupid... its scary... its nostalgic of nazi germany and hitlers administration of propoganda."

hitler used propaganda, clinton used it, bush used it, winston churchill used it, hell every world leader that ever has been in power has used it! crying out loud, for one to use propaganda doesnt mean it compares to hitler.

"if you watched the speech he made yesterday, he mentioned 9/11 6 times. The speech was on iraq. Is there a connection? No... "

no direct connectiong BUT, their is a connection because of the war on terror and saddams support for many terrorsit groups.

"There was never a significant grouping of terrorists in iraq until he was stupid enough to push us in under false reasons such as weapons of mass destruction."

no their was, their were thousands of terrorist, even terrorist camps funded by saddam. dont believe me just ask any member of ansar al islam who were trained at Salem Pak, a terrorist camp in iraq, well it was til we bombed teh hell out of it.

"He also claimed we would be in the war for as little as 2 weeks."

I dont know recall him saying that, it sounds stupid if he did, because no war is only 2 weeks long.

"Donald Rumsfeld has recently said that the us could be in iraq for up to 10 years."

if were in iraq for ten years, then i will be agianst the war and be mad at bush, but i dont think we will be.

"The only reason he was elected again is because he made his support for christianity public"

that plus many american agree with his views on teh world and how to fight terrorism.

,

"causing pastors and priests of churches to support him (thus gaining the support of the congregation) "

oh c'mon, thats mostly untrue, it happens in some church's, but most dont talk about politics and most priest and pastors dont tell their people how to vote, that fact bush was a christian was only part of the reason he was re-elected.

"and that he inflicts the US populace with fear by scaring us into believing that the terrorists are everywhere and that we can actually stop them"

he hasnt said that or said anything close to that, but he's made clear that terrorist exist and are a danger, we ignored them for too long and they killed thousands of americans. he didnt scare us into believing were in danger of terrorist, 9/11 did that, and their is a big dangers still of terroristm, he'd be a bad president not to let us know this.

.

"(in the past year the number of legitimate terrorist attacks around the world has gone up 300 percent)."

more proofs he's not the one scaring americans, but the fact terrorism is a danger is.

"And as to your comment "you try speaking in front of the world without messing up"... i have never heard any other president be so incredibly inept at public speaking."

point being? not being a good speaker doesnt make you stupid or a bad president.

"If you are running the country, you should at least be able to know how to speak."

he knows how, just messes up, as most humans do, the fact he's not a good speaker has nothing to do with how well he can or cant run a country.

"I would go on about how hes fucked up the environment, foreign policy and the economy, but im to tired and i need to sleep. Maybe you should read up on it or stop watching fox news. grin."

Ah i love foxnews, the only right leaning station on the air, but i watch just as much of other liberal stations as i do foxnews. so please dont say shit like that.

  great stuff Jusitne. It's hard to believe how stupid this prez is :o

90% of those quotes arent even stupid, just different. and being not able to speak well does not mean your stupid, the way people are acting its like anyone who cant speak well is stupid. how very wrong that is.

oy vey. some people dont realize right aways its pointless arguing with a republican. its like trying to get arnie to answer a question

same with democrats, its the same for both sides. so please dont act like the other side is any better.

talking to a republican is like talking to a brick wall, talking to a democrat is like a brick wall.

oy vey. some people dont realize right aways its pointless arguing with a republican. its like trying to get arnie to answer a question

or getting reilly to shut up
