Under the Tracks is a song by Creeper Lagoon - i have no clue who they are but the song is actually pretty good.

marianne/sweet marianne is a coldplay song. it might be a cover, but it sounds really good. theyve only played it live tho

I got Ballad of the Soldier's wife off Limewire. Probably by another band, cos it's definitely not Coldplay.

so?

so does anyone know who that song is by? i'm going to use it for a school assignment and don't want to look like an idiot. :)

thanks

ps. i also got it off of limewire

I downloaded "X&Y" once and it was like more Franz Ferdinand + *INSERT ANY HARD ROCK BAND IN HERE" :P

I've heard Ballad of the Soldier's Wife, too. And "Why does it always rain on me" is mislabeled, too... According to various Limewire Sources, it's not Travis performing it, it's Coldplay. :wink3:

Ballad of the Soldier's Wife is actually a cover of a song written by Kurt Weill, a German musician, in 1942 during WW2. The name of the original song is "Und was bekam des Soldaten Weib" or "And What Was Sent to the Soldier's Wife?" I listened to the so-called Coldplay version of the song (downloaded from limewire of course) and it is definitely not Coldplay. Even someone who's not a huge fan of Coldplay would be able to recognize Chris Martin's voice and it's definitely not him. Some captions claim it to be one of the "oldest Coldplay songs you'll find", which is a croc...if it was, it would listed in their discography somewhere and it isn't...the only reason they say it's old is because they can't support their claims that it's Chris Martin...that's my 2 cents worth
