i think i heard about it before... there was a report on the tv a year ago... is a thing that you join, you read a book then you leave it on a park, somebody take ir and read it and then leave it somewhere else, am i right?

i don't know if it works, i mean if you leave it you cna't know what happen to the book, may be somebody stole it or sell it or burn it.. :(

Yeah - you join, and then you register your books to get a Bookcrossing ID number (BCID), and then if you want you leave a journal entry for a particular book saying where and when will you be "wild releasing" (that's the term for it, btw) and then wait for someone to pick it up and (hopefully) make an entry.

To be honest, I've only wild released a couple of books here; so far no sign of them as far as new journal entries are concerned. Which is why I rather do "controlled releases" - you know, pass them on to people that you know or something.

You also don't have release every book you've got - those can go under "Permanent Collection".

I've been a member for almost 3 years, but I've only been semi-active in the last two year.

well, I'm registered, and going to try today. I'm leaving them on a bus. Figured that even if no-one picks it up, it'll go to live in the lost property. Then hopefully, they bus company does what we do and donates any useful lost property to charity.

What's your Bookcrossing nick? Maybe I could check out your shelf...

I've tried leaving a book on the LRT (Light Rail Transit) train, but I've never heard from it again. Maybe one of the cleaners took it and probably gone to the lost and found.

Same as on here, I'm Jenjie

it's a great idea.. I wish people do this here in chile...

I think you are only meant to say bump on the "Bump game" thread unless you just like saying bump for no reason.
