OK, I installed MSN 7 today and I hate it, so I tried getting my old one back by re-installing it from download.com, but then when I try and log into it, it says that I need to use the latest one. Is there any way around this???

If you hate MSN7 its probably due to all the ads and extra junk. I strongly recommend using a patch to get rid of all the stuff you don't want in it. There is the one at http://www.mess.be/. At the top left is says: » Latest: MSN Messenger 7.0.0816. Get Mess Patch. Click on that link and download the program and run it. Makes for a much better MSN experience.

I am trying that thanks. I just find it stupid how you can't have any other version once you download the newest on there is no turning back.

its call monopolizng the instant messaging market.. and probably the people who helped fund this new version need to have a certain number of users active with the latest version for them to get paid... bottom line.... Bill Gstes sucks ass. :)

where exactly would you put coal? Don't say the burner :P

It won't be long now until microsoft block all access into signing into anything below the public release of 7.0, because at the moment, they are running 6.2, 7.0 & 7.5 beta.

The sad fact is that if you are running a computer below XP, you can't run 7.5, so you need to use a 3rd party tool.
