uruguyan boy at starbucks is hot -->

lololol... tha r differents ways of saying it... in Spain they may say:

El chico Uruguayo de Starbucks es un macizorro

but i don't like that word, sounds funny... and it seems a bad word..

u can also say:

El chico uruguayo que trabaja (who works) en Starbucks está bárbaro/muy bueno/tremendo

If ur brave enough, u can tell him 'sos lindo' (you're cute) :D

haha thankss flor!

el chico uruguaya de starbucks esta tremendo

hahaha

i love it!

oooohhhh sos lindo! ;) we'll have to see about that!

how do you pronounce sos? is it "soss" or "saw" as in the last s is silent if that makes any sense...?

also is sos lindo in spanish? would he understand? i have no idea. he's uruguayan afterall.

Uruguay is next to my country, so they talk like me... he will understand it..

you have to pronounce 'sos' or 'soss'. in Spanish the only silent letter me have is the 'h', the other we pronounce them exactly as we write it. In any case, u can also say 'eres lindo', it's the same that 'sos', but in Argentina and Uruguay we don't use it.. just in other countries..

Oh, Babo! lindo is male... female would be linda

o lol, so like saying it to female it would be like 'sos linda'?

maybe something to do with "you have such beautiful eyes!" or something..

lol!

what do you think?

you are the expert

Tienes unos bellos ojos y me gustaría salir contigo - You have beautiful eyes and I would like to have a date with you  :wink3:

Oh, Babo! lindo is male... female would be linda

thank goodness you mentioned that imagine the difficulty if you had not :stunned:

Bonnie u can say as Zu said:

'tienes unos bellos ojos'

or you can also say:

'tenes unos lindos ojos' (u have beautiful eyes)

or

'tus ojos son tan lindos' (your eyes r so beautiful)

the last two r more commun in this zone...

he may like to talk about football.. so (if u know a bit.. if u don't, well, better choose other subject...) ask him 'te gusta el futbol?' (do you like football?). I think that Uruguay won't play in the world cup cos they lost against Australia, but it doesn't matter :D

^ :wink3:

you're all great

Hola! :)

Juuli... your Spanish is really good!!! just two mistakes:

.El profesor en mi escuela es muy bueno. (you shouldn't repite a word in one sentence.. it doesn't sound too good... and your professor may be 'bueno'.. in case he were a woman, she would be 'buena')

.Me encanta la lengua española. ('la' is female, and 'español' is male, so you can say as i wrote before, or 'Me encanta el español')

Bonnie, good luck with the Uruguayan boy! ;)

moi?

I'm going to teach you something in Finnish ;) "moi" is "hello" in Finnish :) This doesen't belong to the Spanish lessons thread so sorry.

Gracias flor :)

de nada ;) . espero que hayas entendido (i hope you've understood)

Please teach us sth else in finish!! how do you say 'my name is?'

Vale.. 'Me llamo' o 'Mi nombre es' in Finnish is

'Minun nimeni on -------'

Quite simple, right? :)

I think the most difficult and annoying thing in Spanish grammar is 'subjuntivo'. I don't like it . It confuses me because we don't have anything like it in Finnish.

Thx Juuli!! but it would be difficult for me to remember it xD

I hate 'subjuntivo' too, and i talk in Spanish...

it just impossible to remember it!! I don't use it to talk, so why don't teachers just teach ' modo indicativo'??

This year, i learnt 'tiempos correlativos'.. they were impossible for me to remeber them.. so i wrote them in a paper i had on my pocket  (don't tell my professors!! they chose me the best of my class :D..lololol )
