I heard yellow in 2000 and absolutely loved it the first time I heard it and I thought chris was soo cute.. but I couldn't get parachutes cause they didn't sell it here yet.. so I only had yellow and trouble in a cd.. when AROBTTH came out my brother got it and soon after I found parachutes and got it.. but it was x&y that really started the obssesion

It wasn't a song. It was the release of 3rd album X&Y what made me listen to Coldplay..

This is a great thread.I could go on for ages here but ill try my best.This brings me back to the summer of 2000.I always remember getting up about 5:30 bright mornings going downstairs getting a bowl of corn flakes and sitting there watching MTV.Everyday this song came on with some guy walking down a beach, I always watched the video but never liked the song.My brother and sister heard the song and thought it was great but i couldnt see what all the fuss was about.Then i remember hearing the piano riff off Trouble for the first time and i thought that this sounded pretty good but didnt take it any further,I always remeber seeing the video off Don't Panic and always changing it because I hated the video.I know your probably thinking whats this guy doing on the forum?fats forward to 2002.I started playing the guitar at the start of the summer and was progressing really well again id see the in my place video and turn it off because i didnt really like i dont know why,but about August/September 2002 me and my brother and my dad drove down to Roscommon to have a look at a car that my dad was interested in buying and i always remember sitting in the back of the car and hearing In My Place about 6 times and i just rememver thinking that guitar riff is great and so simple so i learned it.Then i always remember the scientist came out the chilling piano and that video but it was the guitar at the end of it that got me thats what really made me love them.Not long after that my sister bought me AROBTTH and as they say the rest is history!
