Which song..?

Featured Replies

Which song made you start to listen to Coldplay? For me it was Fix You, and yeah, I know that's kind of noobish. :P

And WHEN did you started to listen to Coldplay? For me it was in October '05.

It was "Clocks". I started to listen to 'em at October 2004. Bought their album in London. :) :) :) :) now I am totally Coldplay obsessed :D

^No, thats not 'noobish'! Its good that you've discovered them! ;)

I first really started listening in late '02/early '03 if i remember rightly. The track that really got me into them was In My Place. As soon as I heard that I bought AROBTTH, then Parachutes, etc. :)

Speed of sound. I knew a few songs before this one but I was not interested in them ... I've been listening to Coldplay since July/August 2005 and now I know every song by heart lol

Jeez.... Well, I distinctly remember hearing 'Yellow' on the local radio. That was SO long ago, I was quite young!! :stunned: And I remember seeing the 'Trouble' video on MTV countdowns....

But I didn't get REALLY obsessed with them until Rush of Blood came out. I think I got that back in the 8th grade, because I remember coming into class saying "Did anyone see that band Coldplay on the Grammys last night?" and someone said "Yeah, that guy going crazy on the piano. They were scary...."  Ah, innocence... But yeah, it was either Politik or Clocks that got me to like them.

lmfao wow. I feel kind of old, suddenly....

That was SO long ago' date=' I was quite young!! :stunned: [/quote']

   you are 17 girl.... so you're still young

  I know, I know!

But when I think back on it, it would have been around 2000? I was probably still upset that NSYNC broke up!!!!!!

    okay...NSYNC....that really seems to be loooooong ago :P

Jeez.... yeah it really does! :stunned:  And the Backstreet Boys! :o Wow.... I was pretty pathetic. I loved my pop music. But hey, thank god it didn't last, right? ;) And I think it's a right of passage to have liked a boy band at one point in your early teenaged life!

the first coldplay song i heard was don't panic, wich is weird 'cos i always changed the channel when the video was on (at the time I didn't like it)

the first album i bought was arobtth and i totally loved it,a couple of onths later i got parachutes...and the rest is history

   I really know what you mean...I also loooooooved the BSB :D ...I had a crush on Nick :stunned: that's sooooooooo embarassing

I think i started to listen to their music in 2002, after i heard 'the scientist'.

This is kind of a funny story of how I stumbled onto ColdPlay. I hope no one gets mad at me, or takes offense. When Parachutes came out, I heard YELLOW, and hated it. I didn't know who the song was by. I kept hearing it on the radio, and had wished they would stop playing it. Anyhow, time went on, and when A Rush Of Blood To The Head came out, I heard IN MY PLACE on the radio, and couldn't beleive what I was hearing! I cried the first time I heard it. I was absolutely shocked at how good it was, but I didn't realize that it was the same band that played the song YELLOW. As the song was ending, I prayed that they would say who it was, but of course, they didn't. I was on a mission to figure out who that band was. I listened to the same radio station everyday, all day long for months. I never heard the song again. I asked everyone I knew if they knew who the song was by. Of course, it was kind of hard to describe what song I was talking about. About six months later, after trying to figure out who it was, I had given up. I was pissed! So then shortly after that, I was at home flipping through the channels on TV, and what do you know, I heard "the song". I thought to myself,"HOLY SHIT!! THAT'S THAT SONG!" I flipped back a few channels, and to great surprise, the IN MY PLACE video was on. I immediately went out, and bought the CD. The next day I played IN MY PLACE for my boss. He said, "oh, that's that band that plays that song YELLOW". Then it hit me! It was the same band. I felt like a complete idiot at that point for being so judgemental from only hearing one song. Needless to say, ColdPlay is now my favorite band.

Oh, and I even like the song YELLOW now! LOL!! :D

Parachutes era 2000. Hubby and cousin got me into the band.

^Dude, thats exactly the same as me!!! :D

I was pretty young when Yellow came out, and I remember I hated it, i used to rip the piss out of that song so much. But really I only refused to like it because my mum liked Coldplay and at that age I thought it would be extremely lame to be into a band that my mother liked.

But luckily 2years later I heard In My Place and decided my mum was actually pretty effing cool and was right about them all along, and so I bought AROBTTH. :)

clocks.

heared in 2002 or 2003, im not sure!

since then ive got the coldplaymania :dozey:

The song that made me start to lisen to coldplay was The Scientist. Since that moment I love them :D

i vividly remember seeing a small part of the "Yellow" video one day and thinking..."what the hell?!" haha, but then i listened to the song and i liked it, so that's when i started listening to coldplay. not hardcore or anything, but whenever i would hear them on the radio i would be like "ohh it's coldplay". didn't really get into all of their stuff until their singles from AROBTTH started coming out, then i went out and bought the album. and now i'm a diehard fan :D

shiver video 2000! chris was so cute in it!!! :P i listened to parachutes a lot but i think i only got obsessed when i bought AROBTTH....

I saw Yellow and the video...there was just something about Chris to me, think he looked like someone. I loved Trouble, but just didnt become completely into CP at that time.

In My Place and GPASUYF made me love them...then I did it backwards and discovered Parachutes lol! and also, if it hadnt been for my graphic design work placement, I wouldnt have heard all of AROBTTH in about November 2002 which they played loads when I was there. :)

2002/2003... I think it was probably Clocks. But I do remember my first favorite Coldplay songs were Warning Sign and Shiver...

I first got into them cause I got this Smash Hits CD and it had Yellow on it and Secret Smile by Semisonic. I used to play those two songs over and over and then my Dad got me Parachutes. I didn't really become borderline obsessive until AROBTTH came out though, and heard the album so many times I had Coldplay dreams!

I used to love that Secret Smile song!!!!

I used to watch the Big Breakfast in the mornings before school (oh those were the days!) and they used to change the lyrics to 'Secret Squirrel' LMAO!!!!!
