January 30, 200620 yr What do you guys think about her being the opening act??? I read a review from Vancouver and it said that she's stealing the spotlight from Coldplay with her beautiful songs on the press' opinion... Is she that great live???
January 30, 200620 yr Ya know I bought her CD's just too know what to expect from her show opining for Coldplay. After several attempts to "get into" her stuff it clicked on me and I can't get enough of it especially the new CD extraordinary machine. She is no doubt a true talent. She composes all of her on music and arrangement. While I love Coldplay's music and energy better but she is a way more interesting artist as far as what she is doing musically. She is outside the box and doing her own thing. Just look up the history to her new album on the internet. The record company refused to release because they could not figure it out and could not hear any singles. Now the album is huge.
February 2, 200620 yr Ahh, Fiona I've been an Apple fan since her first CD came out. All three have been stunning, insightful, and completely unique. I've never seen her live, but I will in March. I don't care what the press says anywhere because you can't compare Coldplay and Fiona Apple. She is not "stealing the show" because Chris and the guys are too wonderful for that to happen. Sure, I think she is stronger lyrically, but that isn't all there is. So have no fear Coldplay gang. She is a talented genius, but ultimately, people are there to see Coldplay...and they never disappoint.
February 7, 200620 yr she is a complete wacko.......no chance she'll steal any sort of spotlight from Coldplay.........
February 7, 200620 yr I've never really listened to her except at the san jose show..the stage guy came out and then she says..oh shit..i gotta go. go pee now before coldplay comes out. then she started to introduce her band and the stage guy rushed her off..i thought that was kinda rude. she's not a bad singer..you wouldn't expect such a big voice to come from someone so tiny...
February 7, 200620 yr I went to the performance last nite at Anaheim Pond and...she sucked. I mean really, really sucked. Think of grunge Enya on steroids...all of her songs sounded the same. And uh...she was wearing some kind of Jedi tunic thing. I'm not trying to flame her, I'm just saying that Coldplay is, IMO, much much better.
February 7, 200620 yr I personally didn't like her that much, she seems a little crazy i thought her "stealing" the show was from the seattle show, cause she sure as hell didn't steal it in Vancouver.
February 8, 200620 yr i was at arrowhead last night also and no one cared about her. barely anyone was even there to see her. i was not interested so i didnt watch her but for the brief minute that i did i would have to say that she sucks to an amazing degree.

If you heard someone scream COLDPLAY after each of her songs, it was me.
February 8, 200620 yr I thought she was ALRIGHT...I had tried to listen some of her cd's beforehand to know what to expect...I couldn't really get into them. I dunno if it was just me...but at the Oakland show...I thought she was pretty good, especially her voice...and people on my side were cheering and some girl was even dancing. i guess it all depends...I gave her a chance and im glad I did...although she did have a rather hard time talking to the audience.
February 8, 200620 yr I didn't enjoy her show... I wont say she was horrible or sucked, its just a matter of opinion. I didnt like her, but it doesnt mean she is a bad musician. Not my taste... Although, the band was really tight together. I have to give them musicianship credit, they seemed with eachother mentally. No one liked her in my area either. My girlfriend absoloutely cringed at her music. But for the good, I thought some tunes were catchy :) . I really liked the hard piano/jazz thing they had going on a few times. I felt she was very negative though, and wanted everyone to be depressed
February 8, 200620 yr i really loved her, she's the best possible opener i could imagine for coldplay.
February 8, 200620 yr So, I think that she is an amazing songwriter and has a great voice, but she is a bit "out there" in her stage presence. She definitely did not connect with the audience in a Coldplay venue setting, and seemed to just want to get through her set. She has strange mannerism on stage, hitting herself in the head and curling up in a ball and setting behind her piano during a song is a bit off. Coldplay audience tend to be a bit more "mainstream" and she is more artsy. I have seen her perform in a small venue, and she is much more intimate and connects more with the crowd. I think larger venues just aren't her scene.
February 8, 200620 yr Fiona Apple Opinion (Las Vegas show) Ick. To be totally honest, I thought she was terrible compared to Coldplay. Everyone around me was like, "Ok...let's get this show on the road, here....where is the good music we paid for (Coldplay)?" Haha. She was really kooky and I really don't have an appreciation for her style, I'm not sure really what it is. BUT MAN, COLDPLAY WAS AWESOME!! It was a sold out show in Las Vegas on a Friday night--a city that has SO many other shows going on---that just proves how awesome Coldplay is, and that they're really the ones worth paying money for!!!! :)
