i would know too... cant belive its such a huge problem...

Norway have helped Libanon through 20years with build up the country and so on.. and now they are burning norwegian flags and threaten norway, cause of the cartoons...

what a world we live in...

does anyone know where i can find the cartoons published by the danish newspaper?

i do.but i wont say...

reacts against Denmark is outrageous i think.but those cartoons shouldnt have been published/people shouldnt have been forced to draw such cartoons...

btw i think it would be nicer if the first letter of Mohammed was in capital, anyway :)

the cartoons were very offencive. but the artist has a right to free speech. and i think if he wanted them published he had EVERY right to do so.

and forced to draw them? from what i understand no one was forced to draw the cartoons.

But back to the topic. this goes to show europe is going ot have a major problem in the coming years with muslim extremist. from the french riots to this. europe is in much danger.

he definetely has the right. those cartoons were the ultimate examples of "free speech" they are out of ethics...

this is not a Denmark/Europe,etc issue. those cartoons might have been published in the states-USA provides those rights too-and maybe there would be another terrorist attack on Usa and maybe Usa would blame Iran and would attack on Iran..

the event is about humanity and religious respects....

its nothing more then free speach. like it or not people have a right to dis your relgion. as they do for mine. it comes down to nothing but free speech. i think its mean and wrong to attack most religions. but i believe they have a right to do so. everyone should have teh right to express their ideas and beliefs.

I think it's also about respecting other religion. There's no need to dis another religion...

there isnt a need, but people have the right too. but people shouldnt go and tourch building and over react. that is just wrong. its truly sad.

Felicote there's a nice article about it and the cartoons (If I remember correctly) on wikipedia.

From what I've seen it's a deliberate insult, however reactions are totally exaggerated, I mean it was printed in a right wing danish newspaper, that doesn't mean you can demand apology from the whole country and all that after you burn down their embassy and flag, hey that too is an insult.

a dannish newspaper doesn't matter to me.. Why do i care a few people if they have no respect to billions of people's beliefs..!But they would have known that everyone isn't tolarate like me..! Cartoons cost peoples lives now! Is there any need to provocate Muslims now? i can't appreciate the unrespectfulness to a religion but the reactions are really out of control..

Who does matter to you?I'm sure danish goverment didn't do it, nor did all the danes

supported the cartoon. If you are offended then go sue 'em, but sending death threats is NO way to resolve anything.

what do you mean by death threats?? sorry but i am shocked! i just say i am sorry about the dead people in afghanistan just because of a cartoon..and am afraid of the others , like the danish people in muslim countries.. the reactions shoudn't be like that , they are completely out of control. i just say i don't care a cartoon if it is not respectfull.. i care everything that is respectful..

please try not to misunderstand people..!

ok then i couldn't say clearly , but i think you didnt hear the deaths in Afghanistan in cartoon protests..i just say a cartoon costs people lives now..

of course you cant blame a whole country because of a cartoon , that's absurd!

Well, I belive we can agree than that there are more civilized ways of dealing with disputes than carnage.

Of course there are.. Killing people , burning flags or setting fire the embassies are not solutions and have never been!

Muslims overreacted to this and now people are dead. they must learn to tolerate this, and get used to it because there is going to more times their religion is insulted. last night my religion was insulted. comedy centeral played the movie dogma on tv, and thats VERY offensive to christians, yet no one rioted, or burned any comedy centeral stations.

As a Muslim, I can see where the anger is coming from. BUT, the need to torch buildings and give out death threats is stepping over the line. This is exactly the kind of situation extremists hope for.

Sure, the cartoons were in EXTREMELY bad taste, but do I want to kill the person who drew them? No. A minor punishment would suffice.

And about the whole 'free speech' and 'I have a right to say what I want' issue, here's what I think. Yes, you have the right to say what you want. Yes, you should be allowed to do/say whatever you want. BUT there has to some sort of line drawn over which you can't step over, and this instance is clearly one of those lines.

there is no line, nor should there be. freedom of speech you have to take the good with the bad, if you like it or not. that is freedom of speech, we cannot have select freedom of speech. as for too far, it was in bad taste but was not taken too far. too would be like havinga picture of him dying or saying something really negative. they did NOT take it that far. If anything the artist helf back.

I just don't understand political cartoons at all.

All of them are just offensive to everyone.

I don't see the purpose. NO one has the mind set to draw one with a positive motive.

all political cartoons are offensive. to they way they exaggerate and the phrases they use. The anger they feel is real. Hopefully things will cool off soon. an apology is needed.

This was too far and here's why I say that: Islamic law forbids depictions of the Prophet to prevent idol worship. There is no gray area for this matter; only black and white.
