long story short, were hated because of our power. every country on top is hated. thats a fact of life, rome was, the persians were. if greenland would become #1 they would be the most hated. you can list alot of things america has done, but there are nation out there that do as much and are not nearly as hated. france for example does alot of crap but since they are not on top their isnt as much hatred for them...its a fact of life...happened to the romans, british, persians...

The problem is those in power usually don't account for the negative things they do ;)

The reason the US is hated around there world is simply the fact that we butt into other countries business. I guess we feel compelled to help, and sometimes it is justified, but most of time we should just let other countries figure out there problems. It does us no good telling others what to do all the time. However, the reason we do butt in so much is because we have such a huge stake in global economy and we don't want to lose that.

^ Exactly, making a whole war in XXI century after the pain of two world wars is just ignorant and selfish. Almost everyone learned the lesson, "war only makes more and more war bringing pain and destruction for people" at least Europe did, not the States and its so hated president.

as usual you generalise all, France is not hating US. Since the iraq conflit, i concive that relation between Us and france are not at their best. But it's politically speaking, and i think that you can't not negligeate the role of media in that. Im' a person before being a french... :thinking:

i don't agree with all the decisions of the governements, you must agree at this point.

I wasnt talking bout france hating america, i was simply pointing out a simple fact. most countries do as much bad stuff as the U.S. but because they are not on top the media mostly ignores it. Frances goverment has done many thing bad, like the uk goverment, or germany, or iran or iraq or north korea, or tiawan or peru.....i was using france as an example. but when france does something wrong the media's usualy not goingto report it if there something america is doing wrong. if france was on top they would be just as hated as teh u.s. simple as that. no matter what country is the leader, they WILL be very hated....simple fact of life.

 

if america were to become a weak nation and lets say Ireland were to go on top, you wouldnt hear much of americas wrong doing as much as you would about Ireland...we butt into other nations bussiness alot but taht is only a small reason why we are hated.
