Finally! Republicans aren't as blind as I thought!

Much blinder and foolish then i thought. they only think this because he supported the port deal and election are around the corner. its nothing more then an example of politicians looking out for themselves before elections. if bush was liked more and had a higher approval rating they would be all upon him to better their campaign. petty politics and nothing more.

oh come on!!

you have to admit this deal was a bad one.. and only 'after' he saw how much people were opposed to it, is when he changed his tune lol I'm happy that he approval rating is finally showing the world that not all Americans are as dumb as we seem lol to re-elect this fool into office..

the man has made some bad choices- can't you even admit that???

 whaaaaT!

Hasn't it been proven that they funded terrorism?? What happened to 'no business with those who supported terrorism?'

They dont support terrorism, in fact have done much to help us fight it, and they've been protecting our navy's ships and ports and bases in there country for years now without a problem. its a fact that they are our good allies and this is just islamophobia and racism.

Heres some wise words from the BBC's news forum thingy.

"Those Americans who express such concern at the thought of a few terminals falling into the hands of a Dubai company may wish to consult one Mr Bilkey on the subject. He is as American as blueberry pie and he also the Executive Director of DP World."

"It's laughable reading so many posts telling us that the Terrorists are going to 'sneak' into the U.S. through our 'porous ports'! If I recall, all the 911 bombers were already HERE, and taking flying lessons at flight schools in Norman, OK. and FL. They had ID and were legitimate residents. Sorry Folks! That dog don't hunt! Al-Qaeda has already infiltrated the U.S., and when Bush attempts to locate them, you Dems want to Impeach him for spying!"

"In typical Liberal fashion, the Dems are doing exactly what they have accused Bush of! They are 'fear-mongering'and smearing ALL of the Muslim world with the same 'Terrorist' brush! Spreading lies that the UAE are 'buying our ports' is a misrepresentation of the facts! The UAE are merely 'leasing' 60 Terminals (0f 800), and it's a change in management. All security is still controlled by America. I love watching liberals back-peddle!"

"Look at the UAE's record: Dubai is the largest US Navy port outside the US, and is generally acknowledged as one of the best-run in the world. Our sailors have been 100% safe in one of the most dangerous areas on the planet - no attacks on ships or personnel. If we trust our military to be treated properly by the UAE, we can trust them to unload ships at our ports."

"Bipartisanship in Washington usually happens with the trivial or the terrible. The opposition to the UAE port deal falls neatly into both categories. A tempest looking for a teapot. A lot of liberal Democratic pols trying to look tough on security issues. Bush has kept this nation safe from attack since 9.11 despite the Democrats. Bush's stance on this issue shows real political courage from a true leader."

"This incident just gave the democrats a chance to show that they are tough on national security and the few stupid Republicans jumped on the bandwagon with them, in reality it’s a non Issue to start with, the port security will always be at the hand of the Americans, as for UAE it’s a great ally to the west and should be treated accordingly"

wasn't one of the suicide bomber cats that flew into the WTC-employed by the UAE??? This is what I've 'heard' not read....

and my point of not supporting the deal was solely based on the fact that they help financially. I don't think that them owing the ports would make it easier for terrorists to enter the country.. I agree.... with that part of the article.. I mean lets face... you don't have to be Arab to be a terrorist.. I can be a regular red blooded American.... to me it was never an issue of racial profiling... just a matter of how this man was employed.. he slipped thru the UAE security..... its possible it could happen again.

nooo I think it was more than just that.... I'll have to do some research

This is assuming that there actually were hijackers and the US Government didn't blow it's own citizens up.

hmm spoken like a true conspircay theorist... *applaudes*

I guess the fact that there was actual video and tapes of these men boarding the planes and stuff.. isn't proof enough. OR the fact that people had seen these 'men' doing dry runs of the 'alleged hijackings'?? Its all still speculatory I suppose... HOWEVER I do believe that one (or more) planes were shot down by the US Military on that day.... but you'll never hear that on the news.. people would go bonkers.. especially if there were no hijackers on board. Just another victim of collateral damage.
