[Ottawa 17/3 Review] Coldplay turns up the heat

Featured Replies

Does anyone remember what Chris said most of the time when he was talking? Most of the time I couldn't understand/hear.

Once he talking and I was in the bathroom too. I missed that...

And also, did he change the lyrics in Politik? Wasn't paying attention to that either cause I didn't know he changed the lyrics every show...

why do i hear that chris said how johnny cash is best canadian?

Any Videos, like cellphones, by any chance ?? :)

He winded things down with a cover of Ring of Fire dedicated to Roy Orbison, while encoring with Swallowed in the Sea and For You in which Martin sang from the other end of the rink, and finally, the funereal Fix You.

I was VERY disappointed when I read this. It was definately NOT Roy Orbison that he dedicated it to!!!! Gah! It was Johnny Cash!!

And yes, as someone else pointed out, it was not "For You" that they played it was In My Place...geez.

But all in all, this concert being my very first Coldplay concert it was AWESOME! I LOVED it!! Even though I was in the second row from the very back...I still enjoyed myself! And I could still see Chris's hair bouncing up and down as he sat playing the piano...god how I love the way he plays that piano! *swoon* He can get soooo into the music! And watching Will play the drums too...he just goes at it! LOVE IT!!!

I wish that I could go see them again....preferably in Canada somewhere where I don't have to travel more than 10 hours for...

Hope they come back to Ottawa soon!! :D

I have some pictures(mind you not very god ones) and videos...will upload them sooner or later...or if anyone wants any...lol

Haha, I read that article Saturday morning and just laughed. He must've been drunk or something...

AMAZING show overall. I loved it. Flew up there from Newfoundland Friday morning, checked into the hotel, hung out there for a while, then tidied myself up a bit, and then we went down to leave for the day and met Guy in my hotel lobby. Absolutely fantastic. The band stayed in my hotel. And I met up with Guy twice, Friday and then Saturday, late morning/early afternoon. Wow...

Ohhhh! you lucky duck....what hotel were you at??????

My first show, too! And I was way in the back, too. But it was amazing...

I know O.o *dies*

I'm a little weird about giving the name of the hotel since I wasn't supposed to know they were staying there, we were told by someone who wasn't supposed to tell us at breakfast, heh.

oh come on!!! don't be a cheeky monkey about it...tell us...I doubt they'll stay there next time, don't they change from time to time. And besides, the next time they come back might be in a few years...come on....please, pretty please... ;)

This was my first Coldplay concert and I really didn't know what to expect. I was talking my son as Christmas present tickets. I am a die hard U2 fan and saw them in Ottawa in November. I was thinking we would sit a lot and the music would be more mellow like the CD. Was I in for a surprise right from the get go. The first two songs rocked the place and I said to myself...This is a friggin rock concert!!! The set list was good but a little on the short side. Really the only difference between U2 and this concert was the crowd. The crowd for U2 was amazing. You could not hear yourself throughout the concert and no one sat down during the concert. The Coldplay Ottawa crowd was a bit reserved. There was not the deafening roars as they entered or finished some songs. I was very impressed with Chris's talent and energy and I will see them again.
