March 22, 200620 yr Well.....I think this is a conroversal topic...... In today's german lesson we talked about Sigmund Freud and his theories about the mind of a human being....... we came to an example that if men have a dedication to children and abuse them sexually they at least missed somethnig in their natural sexual development.....one step of it is missing then....... And then we came to the question if you can say that this offender is guilty or not.....because finally the act of abusing the child sexually came from his subconscious mind.....and he was controlled by his drive....... I think a good example for that is Jacko....but we all know that..... So what do you think....: Would you say he is definitely guilty or you can excuse an act like that with this explanation? I'm really torn....... I think everybody who does something has a psychological error......and if he is controlled by his drive...... but on the other hand he did this act....which is not excuseable..... Damn....this is a difficult topic......
March 22, 200620 yr i say guilty if your subconcious mind drives you to do it then your're concious mind should make u rethink what you are doing, is this right or wrong. its hard i dont know enough about the whole of it to make a point lol.
March 22, 200620 yr Author ^of course it#s not an excuse.....surely you can't go and say "but hey I was controlled by my mind!"......and yeah....that's the dificult thing about it!
March 22, 200620 yr Author Yeah they are.........and the final act is the main thing....and actually there are no excuses......we had this discussion in class.....and another girl and me were really a bit torn......I don't want to be a lawyer and judge about this....

I was just going to write that  haha If a person has some kind of mental illness and abuses a child (or anyone at all) sexually because of that, then I still think it's guilty but in this case you have to make sure that the person gets help to prevent it from happening again. If you just put this person in a prison I bet it will be just the same when it gets out again.
